Silverstone chiefs vow to stage ‘record-breaking’ British GP next year as 350,000 fans miss out due to coronavirus

SILVERSTONE chiefs are planning a “record-breaking” bumper British Grand Prix for 2021 to make up for this year’s behind-closed-doors race.
Last year, over 350,000 fans attended over the four days whereas this year the grandstands will be empty as part of the coronavirus measures.

Circuit bosses have warned fans not to waste their time trying to get close to the track to sneak a glimpse of Lewis Hamilton or even hear his Mercedes on track.
However, next year, Silverstone MD Stuart Pringle wants to recapture the atmosphere from 1992 – when Nigel Mansell won the world title – a period dubbed “Mansell Mania” when British F1 fans flocked to the circuit.
He said: “I am certain we will all feel the lack of fans but we want to focus on next year.
“We don’t know what the world will be like but I sincerely hope we are operating as normal by July next year.

“Providing it is safe to do so, I think we need to have a look and see if we can break some records next year because there is unquestionably a pent-up demand.
“I have my sights on topping Mansell Mania. That’s what I want to go for – ’92 particularly because that was absolutely massive.

“What’s interesting now is that it is all coming in to focus, even for the less casual viewer.
“Lewis Hamilton is now recognised as one of the greatest ever and then you have Lando Norris, who is fourth in the championship for McLaren.

“Then, if you are a fan of the sport, you will be aware of what a great job George Russell is doing.
“We are about to enter a golden period for British Formula One interest.
“We have arguably the greatest ever and then the other two British lads, who are the heirs to his throne.”
Pringle says that the Northamptonshire circuit is now fully prepared for this weekend’s race – followed by a GP to mark the sport’s 70th anniversary next week in a unique doubled-header.
He added: “I am happy. I don’t have any concerns.
“I think we are lucky we are the fourth and fifth races of the year and we are benefiting greatly from F1 and the FIA’s experiences from the first three rounds. All the testing procedures are up and running.”

McLaren ace Norris says the British GP without fans will not feel “as special” as his F1 debut last year.
He said: “It is going to feel weird going to the home GP and not having any of the fans there.
“It would have been nice to see even more flags with my name on. When you don’t have the fans it doesn’t mean as much, it’s not as cool, it’s not as special.
“But at least we’re racing, back on track, and heading in the right direction. Hopefully, next year we can get the fans back and they can enjoy the racing again.”

Former Formula One star Adrian Sutil ‘destroys £1.2m McLaren Senna LM supercar in Monaco crash but walks away unscathed’

A MCLAREN supercar worth £1.2MILLION that was wrecked in Monaco was reportedly owned by former Formula One driver Adrian Sutil.
Pictures on social media circulated of the nasty smash, with the orange Senna LM model mangled against a lamppost.

The front end of the vehicle appears to have been totally wrecked with the windshield near enough shattered.
The accident is said to have occurred just outside of Monaco with German racer Sutil reportedly sat next to the car.
Although Sutil is yet to confirm or deny his involvement, the driver was said to be unscathed.
Instagram shots from the scene purport it to have taken place by the Cote d’Azur commune of Eze, in the hills above Monaco.

The McLaren Senna LM supercar is estimated to have cost around £1,248,000 – with the owner in a VERY exclusive club.
Only 24 were made when released earlier in the year with just six sold in the marque’s trademark papaya orange.

The design was heavily inspired by the McLaren F1 LM, released in 1995, and was named after the late F1 legend Ayrton Senna.
A 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 provides plenty of oomph with a variety of luxury extras on offer when purchasing, including gold-painted wishbones, a 24 karat gold-lined engine bay, and four distinctive gold exhaust tips.

Sutil, 37, raced for seven years in F1 with Spyker, Force India and Sauber.
Somewhat ironically, one of his best-ever finishes came around Monaco with a fifth-placed finish in the 2013 Grand Prix.

Lando Norris slams Hungarian GP kneel farce as a ‘mess’ and calls on Formula One to give drivers time to show support

LANDO NORRIS says drivers are united behind Formula One’s anti-racism message.
And the sport is planning an ‘end racism’ protest before Sunday’s British Grand Prix.

    2

Lando Norris has vowed to continue to take a knee before races
There were shambolic scenes in Hungary as some drivers wore ‘end racism’ T-shirts while others did not. Some did not even line up alongside their fellow stars.
The message was they were split, with world champion Lewis Hamilton calling out Grand Prix Drivers Association director Romain Grosjean for not wanting to continue the public show of support.
He also accused Formula One and the sport’s governing body, the FIA, of “lacking leadership”.
But after crunch talks, Brit Norris, 20, insisted: “We are united in agreeing with what we support as a community of F1 drivers.

“Whether we do take the knee or we don’t take the knee, that is not the question. I don’t think that needs to be the reason why people judge some of us to be in support of it or not. We all support it.
“Some people want to do different things, but we are all in agreement that we want to take a stand and show support of what we’re trying to do against racism.
“We will have a better structure and better plan in place for this weekend.
“Yes, it was a bit of a mess in Hungary. We have to accept that. But it was not the drivers’ fault entirely.”

    ‘EVERYTHING I CAN’
Norris said he will continue to take a knee but says drivers who do not should not be judged to be against the movement.
He added: “I take a knee because I want to have the biggest impact I can on ending racism.
“It is one of the few times in life when people like me can have an impact on the future. This is one of the biggest initiatives around the world to make a change. I want to do everything I can.”
Norris has made a solid start to the season and is fourth in the drivers’ championship.

The McLaren star will see his current team-mate, Carlos Sainz, join Ferrari next season — not that Norris is green with envy as the Italian team struggles.

“Ferrari seem to be in a difficult position at the moment with what they are trying to achieve.
“It’d still mean a lot to us as a team to take the next step and beat a team that has been front-running for many years to show the progress we have made.”

Lewis Hamilton slammed by fans for sharing anti-vaxxer post accusing Bill Gates of ‘lying’ over coronavirus jab

LEWIS HAMILTON has shared an anti-vaxxer post that accuses Bill Gates of “lying” over a coronavirus jab, sparking a fierce backlash.
The Formula One driver, 35, twice put a video on his Instagram story on Monday morning but deleted the updates.

    3

Internet celebrity Andrew Bachelor – known as King Bach – uploaded a 13-minute video of Bill Gates being interviewed over a vaccination for Covid-19.
Gates plays down the suggestions of the potential vaccine’s side effects in the interview with CBSN and rubbished claims of tracking chips being implanted through jabs.
Quizzed about the many conspiracy theories surrounding him and the work of his global health foundation, Gates said: “No, there’s no connection between any of these vaccines and any tracking type thing at all, I don’t know where that came from.
“Dr Fauci and I are the two most mentioned, and some of these are deeply ironic. Like, our foundation is about reducing death and bringing equity to health.

“And yet the idea that we get accused of creating chips or the virus, I think we just need to get the truth out there.
“We need to explain our values so that people understand why we’re involved in this work and why we’re willing to put billions towards accelerating the progress. It’s a little unclear to me, but I hope it will die down as people get the facts.”
But King Bach captioned the clip: “I remember when I told my first lie.”
Hamilton, who has earned plenty of respect for his Black Lives Matter and climate change campaigning, decided to share the post to his 18.3million Instagram followers.

But the six-time F1 world champion came in for a major backlash for seemingly promoting an anti-vaxxer stance.
One wrote on Twitter: “The fact that Lewis Hamilton is actively supporting anti-vax conspiracy theories proves the point that I’ve been making for years.

“He isn’t humble and he is isn’t a good guy. He is a fraud.”
A user said: “All your fantastic work with BLM is thrown right out the window with your one single Instagram post.
You’re surrounded by incredibly smart people daily. You cannot honestly hold an opinion so dumb and unfounded in science. Explain yourself.”
Another added: “Can I ask why @LewisHamilton is sharing anti-vax posts on his instagram story?
“In a pandemic, is this really the time to be giving a platform to this?
“Come on man, your team are at the peak of science and engineering, you can do better than share this anti-science b******s.”
A third said: “I am a huge fan. I can forgive you for the Vegan nonsense. But being Anti-vax is just foolishness.
“You got too much money to be this dumb. Educate yourself.”
Fellow sporting hero Novak Djokovic has also come under fire for his stance on vaccinations.
World No1 tennis star Djokovic even threatened to pull out of events once the ATP Tour gets back underway due to his strong opinions on vaccines.
Last week, Prime Minister Boris Johnson blasted anti-vaxxers as “nuts” and urged everyone to get the flu vaccine this summer.
The PM lashed out at those who don’t get their jabs as the Government launched a huge new drive to try and protect the NHS this winter ahead of a possible second coronavirus wave.
The popularity of groups and websites opposing vaccinations is a real concern, with a surge in interest during the last few months in line with the global pandemic.

Should anti-vaxxers continue to press forward with pushing their message, this could lead to the fight against coronavirus being derailed.
In order for a jab to be effective – once it is ready – it would need to be taken by a large proportion of people in order to increase the immunity.
So mass refusal to cooperate and be vaccinated may lead to coronavirus remaining present and, therefore, spreading.

THE MOTO GP season kicks on this weekend with the Andalucia Grand Prix.
Fabio Quartararo claimed his second MotoGP pole of 2020 after qualifying, but reigning champ Marc Marquez has announced he will NOT race because of an arm injury.

    1

Injured Marc Marquez has withdraw from following practice
Marquez, 27, failed to set a lap time during qualifying in Jerez, and has now withdrawn just four days after having surgery on his wrist.
HRC boss Alberto Puig said. “He’s a little in pain.
“This morning [FP3] it was not so bad, but understanding that ‘not so bad’ is still pain because it’s a broken bone but he could still go and the plan for the afternoon was to try a longer run. In the longer run, probably because of the laps and the heat, he started to feel more pain and feel not so comfortable.”
“We decided to go with the plan, to come here, skip Friday and try Saturday. This morning was like a test to see if he could ride the bike and it was OK, then in the afternoon finally we saw it was not so east. So we have decided that it is best not to race.”

What time does MotoGP Andalucia start?
MotoGP Andalucia takes place over the weekend of July 24-26.
The race will commence at 1pm BST – 2pm local time, on Sunday, July 26.

Formula One confirm three new GPs at Nurburgring, Portimao and Imola this year but USA, Brazil, Mexico and Canada AXED

FORMULA ONE have confirmed that three more European races have been added to extend the 2020 season.
The iconic Nurburgring will host a German Grand Prix, while Portimao will feature the return of the Portuguese GP before Italy’s third race will take place in Imola.

    1

F1 chairman Chase Carey said: “We are pleased that we continue to make strong progress in finalising our plans for the 2020 season and are excited to welcome Nurburgring, Portimao and Imola to the revised calendar.
“We want to thank the promoters, the teams, and the FIA for their full support in our efforts to bring our fans exciting racing this season during an unprecedented time.”
Races in Brazil, the USA, Mexico and Canada have all been axed “due to the fluid nature of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, local restrictions and the importance of keeping communities and our colleagues safe”.
Carey added: “We want to pay tribute to our incredible partners in the Americas and look forward to being back with them next season when they will once again be able to thrill millions of fans around the world.”

The heavily revised Formula One schedule is currently booked up until September 27.
Mugello in Italy and Sochi in Russia were announced as the first additions to the initial eight-race calendar.
But now there will be at least 13 Grands Prix with the confirmation of the latest three races for the October/November slate which would normally be occupied by the USA, Japan and Mexico.
Lewis Hamilton and Co will return to the Nurburgring for the first time in seven years on October 9-11.

Sebastian Vettel won the 2013 edition, with Germany only hosting three races since then and all of them have taken place at the Hockenheimring.

Porn star Renee Gracie reveals ‘weirdest’ sex request from subscriber since quitting motorsport for OnlyFans

AUSTRALIA’S first ever Supercar driver Renee Gracie has revealed one of the weirdest tales from her other profession… a porn actress.
Gracie, 25, initially quit racing after costs spiralled to £334,000-a-year and instead signed up to adult website OnlyFans.

People then pay a minimum monthly subscription of £6 that offers a range of bikini and revealing photos.
The subscription then increases depending on what’s on offer including X-rated performances with her boyfriend.
Incredibly she is on course to earn a whopping £2million in her first year after gaining an army of followers.
But with that comes bizarre requests including one from a fan in Sydney.

She told the Daily Mail: “Well, the weirdest was probably this guy who begged me to fly down to Sydney and pee on him.
“The thing was, he was just so adamant.
“He was offering anything, but I wouldn’t do it. That’s one of my rules. I would never meet one of my fans face to face.
“I’m very careful not to let anyone know where I live or have any landmarks in my photos. You have to stay safe.

“I auctioned a pair of my undies for US$350 (£274).
“Just a pair of black Bond undies that cost me about five bucks.
“I wore them around for a day, put them up for auction and sat back and watched the bids come in.”

“I auctioned a pair of my undies for US$350 (£274)

“When I stopped driving I had a few jobs and a girl I knew told me she was doing it so I thought ‘why not?’
“The bikini shots weren’t that different from what I was putting on Instagram anyway so I thought, ‘what have I got to lose?’ I was hoping to get 500 subscribers.
“There are certain things I will and won’t do.
“I won’t break the law and I won’t do multiple guys. Some people ask crazy things but I won’t do anything outside what I can do either with my boyfriend or by myself.
“One thing I’ve learnt from doing this is that everyone has something weird and dark and secretive inside them.
“At first I was thinking ‘whoa, that’s crazy’ but them I got used to it. Now I think, ‘okay, I can cater for that’ but if it’s too extreme or outside my boundaries, I shut it down.
“You get the occasional a***hole but most people are pretty good.
“I don’t like people being rude or mean to my other fans and there’s been a couple who have been too weird so I’ve had to block them or restrict them.”
    RACING RETURN
After pocketing a fortune, Renee revealed that she is planning to return to the track claiming that she is not relying on sponsorship.
She said: “I now have the financial security to get back into it.
“I can now afford to go racing without worrying about crashing the car. I can do it and afford to do it.
“I can go racing and not have to worry about a budget. I won’t be reliant on sponsorships.
“I have the money to pay for it myself. When I think back to where I was two years ago to where I am now I almost can’t believe it.”
