Valtteri Bottas finished up in second and Max Verstappen came third after finishing 0.7s off the Mercedes.
After securing victory, Hamilton said: “Physically, its tough.
“It’s the fastest we’ve ever been round here so the forces through your body are pretty intense.
“Then you’re just trying to manage the tyres on your laps.

“The first lap was decent, which did the job thankfully.
“I was here with the guys until at least 10pm last night just looking through the details and seeing where we can get better for the race.
“These Red Bulls are super fast.”

Lewis Hamilton could lose closest ally at Mercedes as Toto Wolff hints at QUITTING F1 team and is weighing up options

LEWIS HAMILTON could be about to lose his biggest ally at Mercedes after boss Toto Wolff admitted he was considering quitting.
Wolff joined the team at the same time as Hamilton in 2013 and together they have dominated the sport.

    1

However, like Hamilton, the Austrian’s contract ends in December and both have yet to sign new deals.
Hamilton has made no secret of the fact he wants to see Wolff stay on, but Wolff says he is weighing up his options with Daimler CEO Ola Källenius and his wife, Susie.
Wolff said: “I really have enjoyed many years in Formula One in that role and the discussions we are having are very good.
“I am happy that my relationship with Ola is probably as good as it can be and we speak almost every day and there are many factors that make me want to stay in Formula One.

“On the other side, it takes a toll and that is in my considerations and, as it stands there is no reason not to continue with Mercedes, but we will find out.
“What that means is it is a discussion I have to make for the future that I have to take with my wife and with Ola.

Lewis staying at the moment is the best he can do and what he wants to do. It is flattering he says it depends on what I do, but he doesn’t need me.
    Toto Wolff

“That doesn’t mean I won’t be around as a team principal or around in another role, but that I am thinking about it.”
Despite his cryptic answer over his future, Wolff has urged Hamilton to commit to the team with – or without him.

He added: “Lewis staying at the moment is the best he can do and what he wants to do.
“He has the possibility of achieving great success going forward and winning more races and hopefully championships.
“It is flattering that he says it depends on what I do, but he doesn’t need me.
“He has a great team there that will always support him but I have not taken a decision yet.
“I am in a moment of reflection, a reflection of where Formula One is heading to. What is happening around the Covid case.

“And also personal reasons. Susie is in a good place running a Formula E team and that means she is away a lot.
“I have been to 120 F1 races in the past eight years, and that is something we are thinking about.”
Meanwhile, as SunSport revealed on Wednesday, Wolff has performed a u-turn on his decision to play hard-ball over the financial terms of the Concorde Agreement – the deal that includes how F1’s $1billion prize pot is divvied up – after a discussion with the sport’s CEO, Chase Carey.
He added: “I don’t think the teams will ever be united and everybody tries to achieve deals outside.
“So we have decided to move forward as I had some very good discussions with Chase last weekend.
“Most of the clarifications that we wanted to achieve have been discussed and we are at a good point to sign the agreement and move on.”

In my time here leading McLaren, I have never been fined a dollar, let alone 400,000. I have never been docked points.
    McLaren’s CEO, Zak Brown

Meanwhile, McLaren’s CEO, Zak Brown has hit back at Racing Point’s Otmar Szafnauer.
Szafnauer delivered a scathing attack on Brown last week following McLaren’s intention to join the group of teams pressing for them to be punished further for copying Mercedes’ brake ducts.
Racing Point have been fined £361,000 and docked 15 points after falling foul of the rules, while McLaren have now ceased pursuing the matter.
Szafnauer said last week: “I’m surprised at how little he [Brown] knows about the rules of Formula One. It seems to me he knows more about historic racing than he does about Formula One.”
And Brown hit back with a ziner, saying: “A lot of what Otmar said was accurate. I am not an engineer.
“I don’t know the rule book from the first page to the last page, but I am CEO of a racing team and it is their job to know the rulebook and the regulations.

Lewis Hamilton’s bulldog Roscoe POOED on Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas’ motorhome at Silverstone, reveals Finn

LEWIS HAMILTON’s pet bulldog, Roscoe, has been letting Valtteri Bottas know he is Mercedes’ No2 driver.
The curious pooch has been sniffing around Bottas’s motorhome and last weekend at Silverstone left a special deposit for the Finn.

Bottas, who is turd in the championship – sorry, third – said he did not offer the dog any meat as like Hamilton he is on a strict plant-based diet.
He said: “Lewis and I have actually been neighbours the last few weeks and Roscoe dropped a big turd right outside my door last Saturday.
“I was doing some barbecues in the evenings and Roscoe always came to smell it, but I never gave anything to him.”
Hamilton replied: “I don’t believe that because he did some real stinky stuff after that!”

The Brit ace, 35, revealed he has been staying in his plush motorhome for this season’s F1 races as he tries to minimise the risks of catching Covid-19.
He stays at the racetracks in his motorhome with Roscoe and his performance coach, Angella Cullen.
And Hamilton says his pad features a special space that he uses as a mini-recording studio for when he is away from home.

He added: “The motorhome expands out and I have my own room and my own section. I have my recording kit I take with me, so I can do music.

“I have my PlayStation and I like to play online. Last weekend I played against Pierre Gasly and we played Call Of Duty together.
“Other times I watch movies. I have physio in the evenings and usually Roscoe goes second.
“I don’t hang with anybody, particularly during these times.
“Perhaps last year, if you were in a campsite with everyone, you might have had a barbecue together.”
Meanwhile, Bottas, who stays in a motorhome with his girlfriend, Aussie cyclist, Tiffany Cromwell, added: “I really like it, it’s like camping.
“In European races I always used to stay in hotels but for the future I think I’ll keep the motorhome.
“That’s what I used to do back in karting, so I have some good memories.
“Obviously it’s a bit different now, but I’m really enjoying it, staying in the motorhome with my girlfriend.

Inside F1 legend Jenson Button’s stunning LA mansion he shares with model fiancee up for sale for £8m with home cinema

JENSON BUTTON and his model fiancée have put their stunning £8million Los Angeles mansion back on the market just a year after buying the place.
The Formula One legend, 40, and Brittny Ward, 30, splashed out £6.6m on the incomplete luxury pad in the Bel Air region of the city.

But now all finished, it is up for sale again with a guide price of £8m.
And whoever does stump up the cash for the gorgeous home is in for a real treat.
Measuring 8,000sq ft, the house – described as a mix of vintage and contemporary design – has no fewer than six bedrooms, including one gigantic master suite.
And there will be no waiting for the bathroom to be free because there are six ‘full’ ones to choose from, plus an additional two ‘half’ bathrooms.

But as well as the kitchen with not one but two islands and spacious family and breakfast rooms, the real excitement comes elsewhere: the bar and home cinema.
That’s right, 2009 world champion Button spared no expenses by getting the builders to put in a fully-fitted home bar complete with climate-controlled wine storage as well as a brilliant entertainment room.
The massive TV screen and comfy, tiered sofa seating is the perfect setting for a movie night – or to watch Lewis Hamilton and Co racing around the track in the F1 season.
Button may not be under the same pressure to keep in such pristine physical condition these days – but he and Ward are taking no chances by installing a home gym complete with a treadmill, cross trainer, bike and weights.

The interior is classy throughout – even the utility room and pair of double garages bookending the property – but the garden is just as impressive.
A perfect lawn any golf course green keeper would be proud of takes a back seat to allow for the swimming pool to be the main focal point.
With the sun beating down on the garden during the day and the hills to the back providing security and privacy, it really is the perfect spot to relax on a hot Californian afternoon.
Come the evening, there is plenty of outdoor seating to accommodate a large group of guests, regardless of the occasion.
Any person owning this place would undoubtedly be desperate to have people over and make full use of the barbecue area.
But although Button and Ward got the house into fine shape, they have clearly decided they want to move on.

Lewis Hamilton claims F1 chiefs are trying to STOP him winning a seventh world title by slowing Mercedes down

LEWIS HAMILTON says Formula One chiefs are deliberately trying to stop his march to a seventh world title.
F1’s governing body – the FIA – are set to ban special electronic modes that turn up the engine to maximum power during qualifying.

    2

Lewis Hamilton has accused F1 chiefs of trying to slow him downCredit: Getty – Pool
And Mercedes star Hamilton, who has a 30-point lead over nearest rival, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, admitted: “It’s not a surprise.
“It’s obviously to slow us down, they’re always trying to slow us down, but I don’t think it’s going to get the result they want.
“The guys at our team have just done such a good job with the engine. But that’s totally fine if they do it.”
Once dubbed “party mode” by Hamilton’s race engineer, Pete Bonnington, the setting could be outlawed as early as the Belgium GP at the end of the month.

It comes after Mercedes also suffered from a change in tyre pressure regulations in the last two Grands Prix at Silverstone.
Hamilton’s team-mate Valtteri Bottas added: “We are not panicking.
“If the regulation comes then it is the same for everyone. We’ll just take it as it comes.”
Meanwhile, Hamilton’s pet bulldog, Roscoe, has been letting Bottas know he’s Mercedes’ No2 driver.

The curious pooch has been sniffing around Bottas’s motorhome and last weekend at Silverstone left a special deposit for the Finn.
