      FORMULA ONE’S official app was hacked as a prankster posted a cheeky message to users. Journalist Jason Duaine Hahn uploaded the joke, which appeared to show F1 being mocked.

      A notification on the app read: “Hmmm, I should check my security.. :)”
      SunSport understands there is no security breach and the message is believed to have come from someone playing a practical joke.
      It comes only two months after Williams were forced to scrap their augmented reality car launch because their app was hacked.
      The F1 continues tomorrow with the Austrian GP, the ninth race of the season.
      Red Bull’s Max Verstappen currently leads Britain’s Lewis Hamilton, the reigning champion.
      Hamilton has recently signed a new two-year contract with Mercedes keeping him in F1 until 2023.
      The seven time world champion has agreed terms on a package worth around £80million.
      His new contract is a huge statement of intent from F1’s most successful driver of all time.

      Sergio Perez is third with Hamilton sitting ahead of his Mercedes team-mate Valterri Bottas who is fifth.
      George Russell impressed in the Williams, with the qualifying specialist making it into Q3.
      He then managed to qualify in ninth for Sunday’s race.
      The Brit yelled over the radio: “Yes!!! On the mediums!! Come on boys!!”

      It was a bad afternoon for Ferrari however, with Carlos Sainz and Charles LeClerc coming 11th and 12th respectively.
      Daniel Ricciardio in the McLaren also endured a tough day, coming 13th despite team-mate Norris doing so well.

      Watch Lewis Hamilton narrowly avoid being wiped out in Austrian Grand Prix practice by Nikita Mazepin

      LEWIS HAMILTON was nearly wiped out by Russian rookie Nikita Mazepin during Austrian Grand Prix practice.The reigning world champion, 36, was getting into his rhythm in FP1 when he narrowly avoided getting clattered by the Haas racer.

      Hamilton raced up to corner three at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg as Mazepin took a wide line as he pootled around.
      But the British star was keen to set a solid time and came racing up to the corner.
      Seemingly completely unaware, Mazepin quickly turns into corner and nearly took Hamilton out of the running.
      Mazepin was clearly caught off guard as he was heard swearing over the team radio, before muttering: “Man, that was close.”
      Hamilton, meanwhile, calmly told his team, ‘I got damn traffic’ as he whizzed past the newbie.
      But viewers on Twitter were quickly to slam Haas’ engineers, rather than Mazepin himself for the near miss.
      One tweeted: “Mazepin’s race engineer needs to take a lot of the blame for this.
      “No radio warning whatsoever that Hamilton is on a push lap?”

      Another wrote: “Mazepin might be unqualified but Haas’ engineers are embarrassingly poor at their jobs. This is a weekly occurrance.”
      A third added: “How are people blaming Mazepin? His engineer should’ve told him to get out the way.”
      Meanwhile, Hamilton has been spending extra time working in the Mercedes factory to help save his season.
      The Brit has seen Red Bull’s Max Verstappen open up an 18 point lead in the championship after the Dutchman’s last victory at the Red Bull Ring.
      Hamilton recently bemoaned the lack of upgrades from his team has gone back to their Brackley HQ to try and help out.
      One of the duties he has taken on is driving the team’s simulator – a task he has hated in the past.
      Elsewhere, Verstappen has laughed off his criticism from the FIA Race Director, Michael Masi, for doing a burnout after his win last Sunday.
      Masi took a dim view of the stunt and gave Verstappen a ticking off, however, the 23-year-old joked he will do a donut instead!

      The race on Sunday is a 2pm start as well. No football on, lovely afternoon in front of the sofa watching the action.

      Knowing Vettel was approaching the paddock, his team-mates planted England flags around his helmet.
      The practical joke was alluding to Germany’s 2-0 loss to Gareth Southgate’s side in their Euro 2020 knock-out clash.
      Vettel appreciated the harmless banter and even began waving an England flag while laughing with his colleagues.
      The racing driver is known to be a passionate football fan, playing alongside Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo in a charity match two years ago.
      Vettel is one of Germany’s greatest sporting icons having won four consecutive F1 world titles at former team Red Bull between 2010 and 2013.
      He joined British team Aston Martin, who are based at the legendary Silverstone circuit in Northamptonshire, at the beginning of the 2021 season after a six-year spell at Ferrari.

      England fans will be hoping Vettel receives more banter from his Aston Martin colleagues in the coming days as they aim to become European champions for the first time.

      The F1 Austrian Grand Prix will be held from Friday, July 2 to Sunday, July 4.
      Practice one commences on Friday at 10.30am.
      Practice two will follow on Friday at 2pm.
      Last year, Valtteri Bottas won the Austrian Grand Prix with Charles Leclerc second and Lando Norris third.
