Hamilton threatened to sit out of the Miami GP when the ruling was last issued and he managed to get a two-race exemption, which expired after the Spanish GP last Sunday.
However, the 37 year-old is defiant he will not remove the jewellery from his nose as it requires surgery to do so, but he has complied with the other parts of the ‘bling ban’, such as removing earrings and bracelets before getting in his cockpit.

Meanwhile, Hamilton could be banned from racing in the Monaco Grand Prix if he does not remove ALL of his piercings, warns Ted Kravitz.
FIA rules forbid drivers wearing jewellery during races and Hamilton acquiesced by removing his earrings to race in Miami.
But removing his nose stud proved more problematic with the Brit possibly requiring minor surgery to get rid of the piercing.
Hamilton was granted a two-race exemption from the rules to give him time to remove the nose stud – but now the seven-time world champion wants to keep it.
Sky Sports’ Kravitz believes there is a “storm brewing” between Hamilton and the FIA which could see the driver banned from the Monaco GP. More

SIR LEWIS HAMILTON is hoping to pick up his fourth win in the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend.Hamilton, 37, is yet to win a race this season and has only finished on the podium once in six races – in the first Grand Prix of the year in Bahrain.

But he believes anything could happen at Monaco, describing the race as a “lottery”.
The seven-time world champion believes luck is needed to come out with a win and that means Mercedes could be a dark horse.
Hamilton told Sky Sports: “It’s just a lottery of a Grand Prix.
“You need to be lucky, you need to position yourself right in all parts, from practice, qualifying, setup, putting all the pieces of the puzzle together.

“There are so many more elements and I think that’s all magnified, that one race, more so than any other race.

KIMI RAIKKONEN is going back racing with the Flying Finn set to swap F1 for NASCAR. The Formula One legend, 42, quit the sport last year after nineteen seasons and 350 races.

Finnish star Raikkonen has former stock car experience and will be racing for Trackhouse Racing’s NASCAR Cup Series team.
Owned by Justin Marks, Kimi becomes the first driver officially named to pilot the new “Project 91″ car.
It’s more than a decade since the Finn last raced stock cars, coming to the US in 2011 to compete in a Xfinity Series race and a Truck Series event.
Marks had previously indicated that the #91 car was being reserved for renowned racing figures who wanted to cut their teeth in NASCAR.

Known as the Iceman, Raikkonen had 21 wins and 103 podiums during his F1 career and lifted the 2007 World Championship.
It remains to be seen who Marks can tempt into the cockpit further down the line, but all eyes will be on Raikkonen as he makes the switch from F1 later this year.
Marks explained: “Project 91’s mission is to activate the intersection point of NASCAR racing and global motorsport culture.
“I truly believe the NexGen car represents an opportunity for NASCAR to enter the global professional motorsport conversation.
“We now have a race vehicle with international technological relevance where world-class drivers from other disciplines can compete at NASCAR’s highest level without the steep learning curve that the previous generation cars required.
“With the formation of Project 91, Trackhouse has opened the door for global champions while beginning the process of scaling into an internationally recognised racing brand.”
Raikkonen retired after the 2021 F1 season and hasn’t been back racing in any form since.
But the opportunity to crossover into NASCAR seemed too good to turn down.

He said: “Racing has always been nice. It doesn’t matter what it is, if it’s F1 or other categories.
“Obviously the F1 story is behind me, and this [NASCAR] came up, and it made a lot of sense in a lot of ways.
“I think without the experience there and a few races, one in the Truck and one in Nationwide, I probably wouldn’t be that interested.
“That was obviously on an oval, this is now on a road course.
“I’m looking forward to it, to having good, close racing, and on the road course, maybe have some chance at least to maybe do something.”
Raikkonen is all set to make his NASCAR bow on August 21 at Watkins Glen.

Hamilton and Russell’s contrasting form of late seems to be signalling a power shift at Mercedes where Hamilton’s ruled the roost in recent times.
However, Hamilton refuted rumours suggesting he calls the shots at Mercedes, and claimed he and new-boy Russell synergistically work for the team’s progress.
Speaking to the Independent, Hamilton said: “Well, firstly, I wouldn’t say I’m the leader. George and I work equally hard together, I would say, to help drive the team and row just as hard as everyone else in the team.

The Mercedes collective now have the difficult task of catching up to F1 leaders Red Bull who lead the rankings with 195 points.
Ferrari sit in second on 169 points, leaving third-placed Mercedes needing to reduce a 75 points deficit.
But Hamilton’s relishing the challenge and insisted he and Russell are up to the task at hand.
He added: “Also, just reassuring us I still love my job, I still love the challenge even if it’s not fighting for wins.
‘I’m still enjoying this battle we are having internally in terms of trying to, with the car I mean, trying to chase down these other guys.”
Hamilton’s optimism was shared by Mercedes’ boss Toto Wolff who explained his theory on how his team can turn things around after the Spanish GP.
However, some critics believe Wolff will have to make a choice between Hamilton and Russell soon for the team’s benefit.
