BOTH Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were left off the front cover of Formula One’s latest game – but made the cut for the Champions Edition.The two rivals battled out a thrilling climax to the season in November with the latter controversially pipping the Brit to the title.

Things have not got better for seven-time title winner Hamilton this season as it went from bad to worse ten days ago at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix when he finished 13th in Imola.
It was his worst result of the year so far, but the seven-time world champion was left even more disheartened as he was LAPPED by Verstappen, who then went on to win the race, on the 41st lap.
Now Hamilton must have thought he was having further salt rubbed in his wounds after EA Sports released their front cover for the F1 22 console game.
And even Verstappen must have been a little irked after he was also left off.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is currently leading the pack this season with 86 points, 27 ahead of Verstappen, and he now has further reason to celebrate after he was picked as the front and centre for the cover.
And he is joined there by McLaren’s Lando Norris and fellow Brit and Hamilton’s Mercedes teammate George Russell.
However, fear not Hamilton and Verstappen fans, EA Sports also released their special Champions Edition of the game, and the pair do make the front of that along with Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso.

Verstappen pipped the Brit to the post by a matter of seconds to clinch it in a controversial season finale.
However, this year has been a completely different story.
Hamilton even admitted defeat following his performance in Imola.
After the race, he said: “It’s been difficult, but I don’t really know what to say. It’s definitely not easy.
“I am out of the championship, and there’s no question about that. But I’ll still keep working as hard as I can, to try and pull it back together somehow.
“It has been a weekend to forget for sure.”

In fact, Hamilton has finished behind Russell, 24, in three of the four races this season, with Rosberg claiming his former team-mate will be fuming.

And Rosberg has now told Sky Sports: “It’s definitely a very tough situation for Lewis.

FORMULA ONE pioneer Tony Brooks has died aged 90.Tributes have poured in for the Brit – widely regarded as one of the best drivers to never win an F1 Championship.

He came close to becoming world champion in 1959 and won six Grands Prix in his career.
Brooks’ first win came in the 1955 Syracuse Grand Prix – while he was a dentistry student at the University of Manchester.
He entered F1 the following year and in 1957 joined up with Stirling Moss on the Vanwall team.
Moss, who passed away aged 90 in 2020, said of Brooks previously: “Brooks was a tremendous driver, the greatest – if he’ll forgive me saying this – ‘unknown’ racing driver there’s ever been.

Ferrari, who Brooks raced for in his best season in 1959, said in a statement: “We pay homage to Tony Brooks, a fantastic driver who contributed to our legacy.

And he opened up on carrying that responsibility and the difficulty it poses as he appeared on American TV.
