      When invited to McDonald’s with Lando, Randi asked him whether he had a girlfriend and he replied: “I’m single now”.
      Moving up the gears he then cheekily asked, “You’re [sic] place a b&b? Haha”.
      Norris did not comment.

      Who is Oscar Piastri and what did 2023 McLaren driver say about Alpine?

      McLaren had stated that they were planning on tying the future Formula One icon down to a contract having recently paid off Daniel Ricciardo.
      Whilst current employers Alpine were adamant they had signed Piastri to a new deal despite the Formula 2 champion refuting the team’s confirmation.
      But the Four Person Recognition Board have unanimously ruled in Oscar’s favour for him to leave Alpine and join McLaren for 2023.

      Who is Oscar Piastri?
      Born April 6, 2001, Oscar was raised by Italian-Australian parents in Melbourne, Australia.

      The Formula 2 star began racing remote controlled cars at a national level before his career in karting took off during 2011.
      By 2014, Piastri had become professional and had took part in Australian championships alongside European and other CIK-FIA sanctioned karting tournaments.
      However, the Australian icon moved to the UK in 2016 to better his karting career, which led to Piastri competing and finishing 6th in the Bahrain Championships.
      Piastri also landed his first sponsorship deal with HP Tuners that same year and began to really catch the eye of big teams at the 2019 Formula Renault Eurocup having won the GP.

      And in 2020, Oscar claimed success at the FIA Formula 3 Championship, took part in his first Formula One test in October with the Renault F1 Team and finished first in the Formula 2 Championship in 2021.

      Oscar is only the sixth driver to achieve this with superstars such as Charles Leclerc, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.
      And the title victory landed the Australian race an Alpine F1 Team’s reserve driver for the 2022 season.
      What did Oscar Piastri say about Alpine?
      In June 2022, it was reported that Piastri was set to drive for Williams in 2023 on loan from Alpine who were expecting to keep hold of Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso.
      However, Alonso announced that he would be replacing retiring Sebastian Vettel at Aston Martin which led Alpine to putting out a statement that Piastri would be stepping in for Alonso in 2023.
      But Oscar was not happy with this as he claimed to have not signed any paper work due to the fact that he had already signed a deal with McLaren on July 4 instead.
      Reports suggest that key pieces of Alpine’s contractual paperwork were not signed.
      The Australian said: “I understand that, without my agreement, Alpine F1 have put out a press release late this afternoon that I am driving for them next year. This is wrong and I have not signed a contract with Alpine for 2023. I will not be driving for Alpine next year.”
      And after weeks of debating, the FIA Contract’s board unanimously ruled in McLaren and Piastri’s favour entitling the driver to race for McLaren in 2023.
      What did Alpine say?
      The decision has forced Alpine into looking elsewhere for a 2023 driver as they have indicated that they will not be appealing the decision.
      The French team “consider the matter closed” and they have stated that they will announce their driver line-up in due course.

      McLaren immediately announced a mult-year deal for new rookie driver Oscar Piastri who will partner Lando Norris.
      McLaren CEO Zak Brown said: “Oscar is one of the up-and-coming talents coming through the feeder series into F1 and we are delighted to see him join the team for 2023.
      “Winning both F3 and F2 in successive rookie seasons is a real achievement and testament to his talent in single-seater racing. In Lando and Oscar we have a young, exciting F1 line-up with a huge amount of potential, standing us in good stead to achieve our future ambitions.” More

      McLaren win right to sign Oscar Piastri as Lando Norris’ F1 team-mate next season after battle with Alpine

      MCLAREN have won the right to sign Oscar Piastri as Lando Norris’ teammate for next season.The highly-rated Aussie, who had come through the ranks at rivals Alpine, was the subject of a tug-of-war – with both teams claiming to have contracts signed by the 21-year-old.

      The matter was resolved by the FIA’s Contract Recognition Board, who ruled in favour of Piastri’s deal with McLaren.
      A statement said: “The tribunal has issued a unanimous decision that the only contract to be recognised by the board is the contract between McLaren and Mr Piastri dated 4 July 2022.
      “Mr Piastri is entitled to drive for McLaren Racing Limited for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.”
      The timing of Piastri’s deal with McLaren is telling. He signed the deal just a day after the British GP at Silverstone where Daniel Ricciardo had finished second-to-last.

      Ricciardo also Tweeted his intentions to remain at McLaren on July 13th, saying he was “committed” to staying with the team until the end of 2023.
      He was eventually paid off by McLaren, earning around half of the £20million he was expected to receive from the team next year.
      Piastri, who won the Formula Three and Formula Two titles in back to back years in 2020 and 2021, said he was pleased the matter was now over.
      He said: “I’m extremely excited to be making my F1 debut with such a prestigious team as McLaren and I’m very grateful for the opportunity that’s been offered to me.

      “The team has a long tradition of giving young talent a chance, and I’m looking forward to working hard alongside Lando to push the team towards the front of the grid.

      It is believed Tommy Hilfiger pay Mercedes-Benz around £4million-a-year to endorse them, but it is not known if Hamilton profits himself.
      That said, they could lure him with a personal deal IF he quits.
      Monster Energy
      Again gained through his partnership with Mercedes-Benz, Hamilton and Monster Energy drinks work together independently of the F1 team.
      In 2017, they partnered exclusively to release a Hamilton-inspired drink.
      He said at the time: “Monster Energy is such a cool brand
      “They are involved in so many great sports that I watch as a fan and participate in during my own spare time.

      For around £1.5million-per-year, Hamilton wears Puma on the race track and in the car.
      He has also featured in ad campaigns wearing their latest sportswear.
      Their partnership began in 2019, and shows no signs of ceasing anytime soon.
      Like Nike have with Michael Jordan, a lifetime deal with Hamilton could be on the cards.

      Union Bank of Switzerland
      The Swiss bank have been a longtime sponsor of Hamilton, who is paid rather handsomely.
      He is reportedly said to earn upwards of £6million for the privilege of being the face of UBS – the largest private bank in the world.
      UBS have been heavily involved in F1 for years, considering the sport an important part of their sports sponsorship portfolio.
      And Hamilton is, of course, on top of the tree in the sport.

      L’Oreal
      Definitely because he’s worth it.
      In 2016, the French cosmetics company welcomed Hamilton as a brand ambassador.

      When he was to focus before a big race, Hamilton is often seen walking around the paddock with earphones in his ears.

      The audio equipment giants also provided Mercedes-Benz with Bose Devices that were even modelled by Team Principal Toto Wolff during races.
      However, their deal ended this year. That’s not stopped Hamilton from wearing them, though.

      IWC
      Classy watches from IWC can cost as much as £30,000, so it’s no wonder Hamilton partnered with them in 2019.
      The Swiss watch makers even named a watch series with his name on them.
      He actively promotes the brand – making appearances at launch events.

      Quallcomm have provided racing data and analysis for the driver and team since 2016.
      It remains to be seen if they would continue to sponsor him, after he left.
      However, after he formed his own racing team X44, who made their Extreme E debut in 2021, he could continue to partner with them in future ventures.

      The patriarch of the family, Bernie was born in Suffolk in 1930.
      Worth £2.5billion, Ecclestone had been associated with F1 since the 1950s – during the 1958 season he entered two Grand Prix races, but failed to qualify for either.
      In 1972 he became a team-owner, acquiring Brabham, which he ran for 15 years.
      Two years later, Ecclestone formed the Formula One Constructors Association, emerging as chief executive in 1978.
      In 2017, Bernie was removed from his position after the Formula One Group was taken over by Liberty Media.
      Not bad for the son of a fisherman, who left Dartford West Central Secondary School at 16 and first worked as an assistant in a chemical laboratory testing gas purity.

      Not much is known about Bernie’s early years, when he ran motorcycle shops and car dealerships.
      His first wife, a local girl called Ivy, was believed to be two years older than the businessman when they married in 1952.
      They welcomed daughter Deborah three years later, but the marriage fell to pieces and they drifted apart.
      It’s unknown if Ivy, who would be 92 today, is alive.

      F1 Dutch Grand Prix LIVE RESULTS: Updates from practice, Verstappen battles Hamilton & Leclerc in home race – Stream, TV

      IT’S the turn of the F1 Dutch Grand Prix, home of world champion Max Verstappen, this weekend. The Red Bull driver will be looking to further cement his grip on this year’s title with a win at his home race in Zandvoort.
      But title rival Charles Leclerc and longtime foe Lewis Hamilton will be out to spoil the party.

      FP2 is done
      A final few laps at the end of the session but the order at the top remains.
      Ferrari and Mercedes will be pleased with their work today – Red Bull have some work to do after Verstappen’s problem earlier in the day.
      Tsunoda’s car is being recovered
      We might be able to squeeze in a few laps once it has been removed from the gravel.
      Red Flag – Session stopped
      Tsunoda has stopped in the gravel and the session has been brought to a halt with 11 minutes to go.
      That is likely to be it for the session as there is no crane to collect his AlphaTauri.
      Leclerc was quickest but just 0.004 seconds over Sainz. Hamilton is in P3 after a solid start to FP1.
      Half-way through FP2
      Leclerc has just gone time. Sainz is in second and Hamilton and Russell take third and four place respectively.
      Red Bull are still to show their hand, so expect that line up to change before the end of the session.

      We have 42 minutes to go and at the top it is Sainz, Leclerc, Verstappen, Russell, Norris, Hamilton.

      Top five at the moment is Verstappen, Sainz, Leclerc, Russell Norris.
      Jenson Button is track side commentating on turn three and you can just see the cars whizzing by especially Max Verstappen who is going great once again after gearbox issue.
      The championship leader is going very wide on his turns too.
      Verstappen is back on track
      After a gearbox issue in FP1, there was a huge cheer for the home hero as he climbed into his Red Bull and took to the track.
      He is making up for lost time and currently sits P1 after only four laps.
      FP2 is go
      Second session underway in Holland for the Dutch GP.
      FP1 is done and it is a Merc 1-2
      Who thought we’d be saying that ahead of the session?
      Could the revival be back on? Mercedes struggled so badly at Spa but this weekend they have started on the front foot.
      Russell heads Hamilton in first practice while Sainz is third and Norris in fourth.
      We never got to see Verstappen’s true pace owing to a gearbox problem, but Perez his teammate was only quick enough for seventh.
      Five minutes to go
      Remember, no Verstappen after his gearbox problem after only seven laps.
      It is Russell now in P1, Hamilton in P2…surely this is not the Mercedes revival?

      Both the Red Bull man and McLaren’s Ricciardo have moments of running off track and into the sand.
      Both keep out of trouble and prevent any damage to their cars.
      Alonso is on a flyer
      The Alpine man goes quickest by over a second. That is some lap form the Spaniard. He’s still got it.
      Session has restarted
      Verstappen’s Red Bull has been recovered and the race track is live again.
      We are back underway in Zandvoort. A little over 40 minutes to go.
      Verstappen tops the timesheets from Ricciardo and Norris.
      Red flag – session has been stopped
      Drama here as Verstappen is getting out of his car. Not the start to the home race he was hoping for.
      But it is short-lived – he’s stoppped
      The championship leader has come to a stop on track. He’s complaining of a gearbox problem.
      He only took a new one in the last race. That is some concern for the team and the racer.
      Green light in FP1
      The Dutch GP is underway and plumbs of orange smoke pour across the track.

      Corinna prefers to treat her husband privately at their home in Geneva, Switzerland with ex-Ferrari boss Jean Todt one of the few people allowed to see him outside his immediate family.
      Jordan gave Schumacher his break in Formula 1 back in 1991, when the German made his debut for the Irishman’s team at the Belgian Grand Prix, and the pair remained friends after he left to join Ferrari.
      He has now revealed he contacted Corinna, who was once the girlfriend of his team’s driver Heinz Harold Frentzenm, before she went on to marry Schumacher.
      “So, there was connection and I reached out and one stage asked was it appropriate and did I think we should go and visit him,” the Dubliner told the Irish Daily Mirror.

      “The answer was no. No visitations for anyone at that moment except the actual direct family.
      “However, since then, young Mick Schumacher – Michael’s son – has reached out to me, and he has been extraordinary.”
      It comes as Todt has now revealed he visits Schumacher up to three times a week and assured fans that he is “in the best of hands”.
      He thanked Michael’s fans for their devotion and told them their beloved icon is surrounded by people who love him.

      “I’m happy that the fans, not only in Germany, think of him so much,” he told Bild.
      “People ask so much about Michael. The fans should know that he is in the best of hands. In the best situation he can be and surrounded by people who love him.”

      “As long as I am in this world, I will always visit him,” he said.

      Corinna recently broke down in tears when her husband was honoured with an award at an emotional ceremony in July.
      The Ferrari icon was awarded the State Prize of North Rhine-Westphalia.
      Corinna, and daughter Gina-Maria, 25, were present to accept the honour on his behalf – and were joined on stage by Todt.
      Todt previously shared details about the star’s condition and said he “hopes the world” will be able to see his dear friend again, adding Schumacher has “never changed”.
      He continued: “I don’t leave him alone. Him, Corinna, the family, we’ve had so many experiences together.
      “The beauty of what we have experienced is part of us and it goes on.
      “Sometimes success and money changes you. But Michael has never changed. He’s so strong.”
      He said he regularly visits Schumacher and the pair watch Formula One races together.
      He told German TV channel RTL: “I don’t miss Michael, I see him. Yes, it’s true, I watch races with Michael.
      “But sure, I guess what I miss is what we used to do together.”
      Schumacher was recruited for the Jordan team as a last minute replacement for an existing driver, who had been jailed for assault.

      The then rookie 22-year-old had in fact only driven an F1 car for the first time a few days before the race.

      Brit McLaren driver Norris urged a mystery model in leaked messages from his Instagram account: “Ordering McDonald’s come join.”
      He begged the Dutch woman, who had told him they had met at last year’s race in Zandvoort, to join him at his luxury hotel on Tuesday for burgers and fries and told her: “I’m single now.”
      When his flirty messages ended up online, Lando, 22, privately pleaded to the model “please delete them haha”.
      He then frantically shared on his Instagram that Luisinha, 22, and he had “mutually decided” to go their separate ways after eight months — despite the pair looking like honeymooners in loved-up snaps posted four weeks ago.

      He wrote: “I wish her the world and have so much respect for her and all she does as an amazing and strong woman with nothing but kindness.”
      Luisinha cryptically posted on Wednesday: “Enjoy every given moment.”
      But to add further intrigue to the drama, Norris later deleted his message about the pair’s split.
      McLaren made no comment, while a source close to Norris told The Sun that he only messaged the mystery Dutch girl after breaking up with Luisinha.
