The Canadian received a five-second penalty for the manoeuvre before Gasly tried to get back in front, only to clash with the Aston Martin star.
Stroll was relegated three places to 14th as a result of the sanction, while Gasly was forced to retire after puncturing when passing the pit entry.
When asked if he had spoken to Gasly about the incident, Stroll jokingly told PlanetF1.com: “No, I’ll meet him in the parking lot later!”
Stroll, 24, also protested his innocence and questioned his time penalty.

He added: “I got forced off the track both times I passed him, So I’m not really sure why I got a penalty because I was given no room.
“I got a track limits for one and I was forced wide and forced wide and then the next time I passed him again I was given no room.
“I was forced wide and then I came back on the track and we touched. If I was given more room I wouldn’t have had to come back on the track and we wouldn’t have touched.”
Gasly also appeared to be frustrated with Carlos Sainz’s overtake at Silverstone and gave the Ferrari driver a little shove as he spoke to media after the race.

It comes as speculation increases over a possible budding romance with the seven-time Formula One world champion.
Just a couple of days ago Shakira was seen at St Pancras station having hopped over from Paris Fashion Week.
The popstar also set hearts racing with an earlier Instagram post of her in a skimpy top as she teased a “surprise” for her French fans.
She wore the sexy outfit to Paris aquarium to do promo for her latest music video, which features her dressed up as a shackled mermaid.

The alleged A-list couple have been seen enjoying a string of cosy outings together in the wake of her messy split from her footballer ex Gerard Pique.
The Hips Don’t Lie singer was caught beaming at the Spanish Grand Prix last month as she cheered on the Mercedes driver while he roared around the track.
The pair were seen on a boat together after the Miami Grand Prix, where Lewis showed off his chivalry after picking her up from the back of her £12million beach mansion late last month.
They were also spotted looking smitten at a dinner in the wake of Hamilton’s second place in Barcelona.

According to PEOPLE, they are understood to be keeping things “fun and flirty”.
But other sources insist the F1 star and the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer are just “good friends” and there is no “romantic connection”.
Shakira’s repeated rendezvous with Lewis have caused a stir, especially since she was spotted also mingling with movie star Tom Cruise at the Miami Grand Prix.
Spanish media reported that the Mission Impossible star, 60, was “absolutely mesmerised” by the singer and had even told a close circle of friends that he felt a connection with her.
An insider told Page Six that there was “chemistry” between the pair – with Tom sending her flowers after the meeting.
The Mirror reported that the 60-year-old is said to have been “flirting” with the Colombian-born singer before she became involved with Hamilton.
And he believed he had “incredible chemistry” with Shakira, but has now seen his ego “dented” as a result of Hamilton’s approach.
Shakira reportedly shot down his advances and instead begged the actor to leave her alone and stop flirting with her.
The global superstar is reportedly “focused on her family” rather than dating anyone at the moment.
Representatives of Shakira, Hamilton and Cruise have not commented on the reports.
Hamilton and Cruise have been pictured at F1 races in the past, with the Hollywood actor even describing the driver as a “great friend”.

Verstappen took the chequered flag for the eighth time in 10 races – and the sixth time in a row. Norris was second and Hamilton third.
Norris said: “It is pretty insane! None of this would be possible without the team and they did an amazing job.
“I managed to hold off Lewis. I tried to hold on to Max for as long as possible…but I don’t care, P2 is all good. The whole in-lap I was trying to wave to everyone.”
Hamilton, who started seventh and was quizzed about his recover, added: “The crowd did it!

“Silverstone put on an amazing show. I felt the energy and the support and congratulations to Lando and McLaren.
“As a team, we know we are not that far away and we can keep pushing.”
F1’s critics will no doubt see the result and label it another dullard, but really this was a belting race.
There is now a very good case for looking at this season’s championship table and immediately discounting Verstappen, who is 99 points clear of the rest of the field.

There is no stopping him from taking a third world title – there is simply no contest.
But he did not get it all his own way here.
Norris made a sensational start and quickly jumped Verstappen to go into the lead.
The sight of the Brit leading the British Grand Prix brought the fans to their feet.
The cheers echoed around the grandstands as someone else was finally able to lead the opening few laps.
Sadly, it lasted just five laps before Verstappen powered his way back in front, but the McLaren man wasn’t done.
He battled to hold on to second place and got his elbows out when he needed to hold off the threat of Hamilton.
A safety car did further threaten Verstappen’s win when Kevin Magnussen’s Haas caught fire.
But at the restart, he again proved too strong and while we were treated to another battle between Hamilton and Norris, they were not fighting for the win.
Verstappen said: “Lando was super quick and took me a few laps to overtake them but then with the safety car and on the soft tyre it was very tricky.
“It was a good result for the team, 11 wins in a row for the team is an amazing achievement.”

Brundle’s grid walk interviews have become an essential part of F1 coverage, having worked as a reporter for the BBC and ITV before taking up his current role with Sky Sports.
But Delevigne appeared to be unaware of Brundle’s gridwalk authority and brutally snubbed the former F1 driver as he attempted to grab an interview.
He began by talking to a member of Delevigne’s entourage and said: “She doesn’t want to talk but everybody needs to talk on the grid.
“That’s the deal now, everybody talks on the grid.”

He then approached Delevigne and said: “Can we have a quick chat, [for] Sky F1? Good to see you on the grid.”

Brundle sarcastically said as he walked away: “I’m sure it would have been extremely interesting.”
Sky Sports F1 tweeted: “It wouldn’t be a Martin Brundle gridwalk without a little awkwardness 😅”
And fans were quick to leap to the defence of Brundle.
One said: “Terrible form. This is Martin Brundle’s gridwalk. Has been for eternity.
“It’s kind of like being invited to a party at someone’s house and when the host wants to meet you telling them to p*** off.”
Another added: “@Caradelevingne you simply don’t refuse a Brundle grid walk interview?”
    A third simply added: “rudeness”
And a fourth put: “Who even is she?”

Max Verstappen wins the British Grand Prix
Lap 51/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
Norris receives a black and white chequered flag for track limits.
He needs to be careful until the end of the race as a five second penalty would put him behind Hamilton and Piastri.
Verstappen’s lead on Norris is now 3.4 seconds.
Lap 49/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
Hamilton is struggling with grip on his tyres.
It seems the soft compound has its drawbacks when they are very hot.
his team tell him if you cool them down the grip will return.
Verstappen still leads the way at the front.

Lap 47/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
It seems the right choice of tyre was the hard compound.
Lando Norris is certainly working well with it.
The gap between him and Hamilton is up to 1.7 seconds.
Lap 45/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
There is no time to rest for Norris as Hamilton is right on his tail.
The main aim for the McLaren driver now is to hold him off until the chequered flag.
We could be seeing two British drivers on the podium as it stands.
Lap 43/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
Verstappen has a 2.635 second lead over Norris in second.
Hamilton is just 0.639 seconds behind Norris.
DRS has been enabled after the safety car going back in.
Lap 41/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
The safety car has gone back in.
We have a titanic battle between Norris and Hamilton.
The former world champion tries to take the McLaren several times on the corners.
Lando Norris manages to hold him off.
Lap 39/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
It is the Mercedes cars that now box in Piastri.
Hamilton is in third place and Russell in fifth.
Lando Norris still sits in second place.

Lap 37/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
Magnussen is only the second person to retire from today’s race.
The safety car is still out as they look to remove his car from the track.
This is going to leave us with a real race to the finish once it goes back in.
Lap 35/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
There is a safety car out as they look to clear the car of Magnussen from the track.
Drivers are taking advantage of this to pit.
Soft tyres seem to be the choice of most drivers now.
Lewis Hamilton is up to third place now.
Lap 33/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
Some great driving from George Russell as he takes Charles Leclerc on the corner.
His medium compound tyres giving him far more grip than the hard tyres of the Ferrari.
Oscar Piastri is in fifth place after his pit stop.
Lap 31/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
Oscar Piastri heads into the pits.
Mercedes made a huge mistake with a slow pit stop for Russell preventing him from coming out ahead of Leclerc.
Lewis Hamilton currently sits in third place.
Lap 29/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
McLaren must be over the moon with how Norris and Piastri are driving.
They have taken their form from qualifying into the race.
Verstappen is, as ever, having his own race again but did anyone expect any different, probably not.
Lap 27/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
Verstappen now has a 6.9 second lead over Norris.
No doubt he will want to build enough of a lead that he can pit and still come out in first place.
Only four cars have pitted so far in the race.
    Credit: AFP
Lap 25/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
A lot of drivers seem to be trying to have a one stop race.
McLaren are asking Lando Norris how his tyres are holding up.
The hard tyre doesnt seem to firing up well today as Charles Leclerc is back in twelfth place after pitting.
Lap 23/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
Max Verstappen his leading the way with a 5.2 second gap to second placed Lando Norris.
Oscar Piastri has managed to get himself a 5.1 second lead over fourth placed George Russell.
Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton is trying to catch Carlos Sainz.
Lap 21/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
Verstappen asks on the radio if they are continuing with the intended strategy as he sees a Ferrari pitting.
He must have seen that on one of the fan screens driving around the track.
Russell still has not pitted and is one of the only drivers out there on soft tyres.
Lap 19/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
Leclerc is given the ‘box, box’ order by his team.
Ferrari may be trying the two stop strategy for this race.
Hamilton is complaining about problems with his battery charging.
Lap 17/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
There is a real battle between the Mercedes and Ferraris out there.
Sainz is trying to catch Russell, while the Mercedes driver is trying to get passed Charles Leclerc.
Verstappen now has a 3.7 second lead over Norris.
    Credit: Reuters
Lap 15/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
Verstappen has now built a lead of 2.8 seconds.
For a brief moment, part of you believed Norris could pull off the impossible, not so much now.
Russell is starting putting pressure on Charles Leclerc in fourth.
Lap 13/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
The potential of rain is somewhat of an issue for Russell on the soft tyres.
He would not want to pit and change onto new tyres only to have to come in again to go onto intermediates due to rain.
Sergio Perez is moving up the field, currently in 11th place after starting 15th on the grid.
Lap 11/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
Esteban Ocon has retired from the race.
Some rain is forecast to be joining us soon.
Verstappen looks comfortable in his lead but the weather could change all of that.
Lap 9/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
On the team radio, McLaren tell Norris that Piastri is going to hold his position to protect them from the drivers behind.
Russell started on the soft tyres, which are only predicted to last 10 laps, so could come in to pit soon.
With Norris more than one second behind Verstappen, he has lost that DRS advantage now.
Lap 7/52 – Verstappen leads, Norris second
Norris is unable to resist the Red Bull as he ghosts past the McLaren.
The defending world champion immediately builds up a 0.912 second lead over Lando Norris.
Meanwhile, Hamilton uses DRS well to overtake Alonso and move into 7th place.

Her wheel dragged along the top of Bustamante’s Halo system before flipping and sliding off the track upside-down while on fire.
Without the Halo system it is likely both drivers would have been killed.
Grant thanked Halo and F1 on her Instagram as she detailed her injuries – which remarkably only appeared to be a sprained wrist.
Bustamante also said she would have lost her life if it wasn’t for Halo.

Grant said on Instagram: “Hello everyone, I’m just letting you know that I’m okay after my race one incident.
“Thank you to everyone that’s been sending me really lovely messages. I really appreciate it.
“I’m very grateful for the Halo style system. Because of the Halo system I was able to get out without their being an issue with the fire because the fire was inside the car as well and I could see it.
“So without having the Halo there I would have been trapped and I’m very lucky and very grateful for the Halo style system to be put in place and for the F1 Academy to have it.”

Bustamante also credited the technology with saving her life, saying: “Walked away from this one. She [Halo] kept me safe.
“Made 2 positions up in the start heading to T1, I was hit from behind and the car [Chloe Grant] flew on top of me. Tires went over my head but the Halo saved my life today.”
Bustamante’s incident was eerily similar to Lewis Hamilton’s crash with Max Verstappen at Monza in 2021 when Verstappen’s wheels dragged across the top of Hamiton’s cockpit.
Hamilton also credited the Halo system with saving his life, saying: “Honestly, I feel very, very fortunate. Thank God for the Halo. That ultimately saved me. And saved my neck.
“I feel incredibly blessed that someone was watching over me today.”
The Halo system is a titanium ring fitted around the cockpit of an F1 car designed to protect drivers from debris and collisions.
The system was brought into F1 in 2018 after huge pressure following French driver Jules Bianchi’s crash at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix.
The accident put Bianchi into a coma before he died nine months later.
The system has saved several drivers’ lives since its introduction, including Zhou Guanyu’s at last year’s Silverstone.

Despite this, its introduction was initially controversial, with some arguing it marked the end of open cockpit racing in F1.

I managed iconic Formula One team my dad founded but I haven’t even been to a Grand Prix since I was forced to sell it

WILLIAMS rack up their 800th F 1 race today. But the milestone is too “painful” to watch for Claire Williams, daughter of the team’s founder, Sir Frank.

She sold the family business in 2020 to US investment firm Dorilton Capital — and has not been to a race since.
It ended one of the great Formula One family dynasties after Sir Frank founded the team in 1977 and won nine constructors’ titles and seven drivers’ championships.
But since selling up, it has been too much for Claire, who ran the team from 2013 to 2020.
She said: “I don’t watch it any more. It has been a really conscious decision because I’m still recovering from taking a step back. Leaving my team has left an enormous gap. We were reluctant sellers. Life took us down that road where we were forced to sell.

“I’m getting to that point now where I’m going to start watching again.
“It is still quite painful and difficult seeing someone else run the team that was once in our family and life.”
Williams are now under the stewardship of James Vowles, a smart Englishman who was motorsport strategy director at Mercedes-AMG Petronas.
And there is a real sense the team are making progress on the track, having slumped to the back of the grid.

Claire, 46, revealed Vowles’ appointment as team principal would have received the full backing of her dad, who died in 2021.
She added: “It is nice that Williams as a name still remains a Formula One. With James now being there, it looks like the team is moving in the right direction.
“When they told me it was James I was like, ‘My goodness, just genius’. He’s a  brilliant choice.
