JORDAN FLYNN is one of the best prospects you don’t know about – but that’s set to change this year. The undefeated lightweight has quietly built a perfect 8-0 resume over the last two years, although his progress was initially halted by the pandemic.

But he’s poised to announce himself on the world stage after signing with Anthony Joshua’s 285 Management, who are expertly handling the careers of Brit prospects Ben Whittaker and Campbell Hatton.
And to say Flynn is excited to be part of the team would be an understatement.
The 26-year-old told SunSport said: “I feel like they can take me to the next level.
“With what they did with AJ and having him behind the company, and stuff, there is no one who has been managed better than AJ.

“The relationship they’ve built up with companies and everything all over the word. I think this is the best move for me.”
Flynn’s loved ones were, understandably, elated when he put pen to paper with 258.
He said: “They’re over the moon and they’re very happy. This is what I’ve been working hard for my whole life, just opportunities.
“Because people haven’t seen yet how good I am. It’s just having the right opportunities and being on the right stages and right places.

“So this year, is going to be a big big year.”
After an amicable split from former trainer Kevin Mitchell, whom he remains “good friends with”, Flynn now sharpens his tools at the famous Steel City Gym in Sheffield along with Dalton Smith and Sunny Edwards.
He said: “I feel like this is a good move for me. Getting away from any distractions locally in Oxford and Essex.
“Taking myself away and focusing just on boxing Monday to Friday and work and then come back home on the weekends.”
Flynn is one of the few Sikh professional boxers in the UK, a fact he’s immensely proud of.
But he’s hoping to really fly the flag for his religious and Indian heritage this year and inspire a new generation of Sikh boxers.
He said: “This year, I’ll be able to do that properly on the biggest stage. Now I’ll be able to do things properly.
“So I’m excited for it all and to keep pushing on.”

“And I want to show people, anyone, that it doesn’t matter where you’re from or what your background is that you can get into boxing and be good at it.”
Flynn’s ninth professional outing has yet to be announced, although SunSport understands it’s currently being worked on.
But he plans to make himself a household name to avid and casual boxing fans “in style”, whenever that outing may be.
He admitted: “I really need to announce myself on the scene.
“By the end of this year, people will know who I am in the boxing world and elsewhere as well.
“Announce myself on the scene, win my first title and start climbing the ranks and set myself up for a good 2024.”
He added: “It’s always about the long-term goal. It’s not just about the short-term and thinking about now.

Tyson Fury warned Oleksandr Usyk will only accept 70/30 split if fight happens on April 29 or new terms will be demanded

OLEKSANDR USYK will only accept Tyson Fury’s 70/30 offer for a fight on April 29 – and any delay will force new terms to be agreed. Usyk’s team believe they have called Fury’s bluff by agreeing his lowball deal of 30 per cent for a title unification in just six weeks.

But the Ukrainian’s manager Egis Klimas warned if the original date next month is not honoured, they will renegotiate for 50/50.
Usyk’s promoter Alex Krassyuk has echoed Klimas’ comments, meaning Fury’s lions share split is ONLY valid for April 29.
Krassyuk told Sky Sports: “Usyk was very clear in his message, ‘April 29th, I accept 70/30.’
“So all the conditions that were accepted by Usyk are due only for April 29th.

“And Egis Klimas yesterday came out on Twitter saying that if it moves just by one day, then it’s going to be 50/50 again.”
Fury spoke out to demand there be NO rematch clause in the contract but Krassyuk claimed it was his side that wanted the stipulation.
Hall of Famer Frank Warren has tried to reassure fans by maintaining that the fight is ON despite the clock ticking to announce it.
Although Krassyuk himself admitted he will be as surprised as anyone else if the bout happens next month.

He said: “I’m not really confident that this fight will happen on April 29th. I will be surprised if it takes place.
“But if it takes place, I will be really happy because this is the biggest thing Usyk wants, the baddest thing he wants in his life, to unify the belts in heavyweight division, the second division in his career.”
Responding to Krassyuk on Instagram, Fury said: “Alex, Usyk’s manager you sausage, Borat wants his voice back you f*****g bum.
“You’ll get what you’re getting, don’t worry. You’re the worst manager in history, you got your fighter to accept 30 per cent, you bum dosser.
“Hahaha, you’re not that clever are you? You bum. You got outwitted by a man that never went to school in his life, sausage.

I was terrified as I stared down the barrel of gun while my wife cried when I was robbed of £71k watch, says Amir Khan

AMIR Khan told a court today how scared he was as he stared down the barrel of a gun before having his £71,000 watch stolen. The former boxing champion, 36, told how he was pushed, fell back on the car and saw the gun being pointed about a foot away from his face.
Amir Khan told a court he was scared after being robbed by masked raidersCredit: PA
The moment Amir was targeted by a gunman has been shown to jurors
The masked gunman then allegedly told him: “Take off the watch.”
Boxing champ Khan, wearing a pinstripe suit, told Snaresbrook Crown Court he heard wife Faryal, 31, “screaming and crying” during the incident, which was over in seconds.
And he revealed how it was “totally different” to the tough situations he has been put in when fighting someone in the ring.
He said: “It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a gun in my face. It put me in shock straight away.

“I didn’t want to look at the gun. I looked away. I literally saw into the barrel.
“I was really scared. I’ve got three kids. My wife was next to me. I was really really scared.
“I’m a sportsman, a fighter. I’ve always been put in the toughest situations when I go into the ring and fight someone. This was totally different. Very very scary.”
Asked how close the robber was to him, Khan said: “Very close. He was really close.

“I remember the gun – a foot from my face. I remember looking right into the barrel there, looking into the gun barrel.”
The incident happened moments after he left the Sahara Grill with his wife in Leyton, East London, last April.
Khan crossed the road and saw a man running towards him, initially thinking someone was messing about or playing a prank.
He said he didn’t know what the gunman wanted originally but it then hit him that he was after the watch. Khan took it off straight away and handed it to him.
He told the jury: “I still didn’t look at him. I looked down and handed it over. Handed him the watch.
“When someone puts a gun to your face you think he’s going to shoot. I looked away and handed it over.
“I saw them run off. That’s when people ran across to see what’s happening.
“I could hear my wife screaming and crying. I looked around to see if she was OK. I went to Faryal.”
He said he “didn’t want to be there” because it was getting busy but had to wait for the police to arrive to give them his statements.
But he did say he felt more comfort when people ran over to him, adding: “During the incident I was on my own. When I went to my wife and saw people I felt a little safer.”
He told the court that his rose-gold diamond encrusted watch, estimated to be worth £71,000, was given to him after he won a boxing fight.
Friend of eight years Omar Khalid, who had dined with the Khans, had gone ahead to get the car.
He told the court: “There were two guys walking towards the car. Amir was next to the car.
“When I looked I thought they might be fans speaking to him, but I felt someone had been thudded into the car.
“I looked towards the passenger window, and saw one of them had a gun.
“I froze and thought, ‘What do I do here?’. He was an arms’ length away from Amir.
“He had the gun to Khan’s head or face. I decided to get out of the car, and as soon as I got out of the car the gun was pointed towards me. It was a black handgun.
“They were just walking off and got into the Mercedes.
“It lasted, from when I first saw them to when it finished, it was about 30 seconds to a minute.”
Defendants Ahmed Bana and Nural Amin, both 25, and Ismail Mohamed, 24, deny conspiracy to commit robbery. Bana also denies having an imitation firearm.
Dante Campbell, 21, has previously admitted being the gunman during the hold-up in April.
Hamza Kulane, said to be involved as one of three ‘spotters’, has not been traced.

‘I’m a monster’ – Tyson Fury is in BEST shape of his career despite having six weeks to train for Oleksandr Usyk fight

TYSON FURY has insisted he is in the BEST shape of his career – despite having just six weeks to train for his fight with Oleksandr Usyk.Usyk accepted Fury’s “greedy” terms of a 70/30 split to unify all four heavyweight belts for the first time ever.
Tyson Fury insisted he is in the best shape of his career
It leaves just over six weeks until the historic title unification, which is eyed for April 29 at Wembley.
But Fury has cooled concerns over his fitness and claimed he has never been better as he worked up a sweat in his personal gym.
He said: “I can’t wait, I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m ready to rock and roll, I wish it was this weekend. I’m a monster.”
Fury, 34, appears to still be without coach Sugarhill Steward or any known southpaw sparring partners.

And Usyk’s promoter Alex Krassyuk voiced fears over whether the fight will happen amid ongoing back and forths on social media.
Fury demanded there be NO rematch clause in the contract but Krassyuk argued it was his side who wanted the stipulation.
It led Hall of Famer Frank Warren to speak out and maintain that the fight is ON despite the public jabs.
Warren told talkSPORT: “Both boxers have agreed to a split and it’ll be on.

“It’s just a matter of contracts but they’re not going to be a problem. I know we’ll get this on.
“From Tyson’s perspective he’s just putting it out there and putting it on the table, asking why he [Usyk] wants a rematch.”
Krassyuk accused Fury of trying to “find a way to pull out” but Warren was quick to hit back.
He said: “If he was going to avoid the fight he’d just say, ‘I’m the WBC champion, you get on with your lives, I’ll get on with mine.’
“To say that Tyson would avoid any fight; this is the guy that went to Germany to fight Wladimir Klitschko, who at his time was the best heavyweight of his generation, had no problem going over there and actually won the fight.
“This is the guy that went off to the United States not once but three times to fight the hardest puncher in the heavyweight division.
“Please, the one thing about Tyson is that he’s got balls, he’s got balls bigger than… just massive balls. There’s no problem with him doing the fight.
“Secondly, he trains religiously every day… he’s as fit as a butcher’s dog. You’ve only got to look at him, see recent photos of him and you can see how fit he is. He’s ready to go.

“Where we are now from where we were on Friday, when everybody was writing this off and saying it’s not going to happen, is that both boxers have agreed the terms and respective camps and lawyers are now working on to get the agreement drafted so that we can officially announce it.

He faced fringe contender Clifford Etienne and knocked him out in just 49 seconds – despite claiming he had a broken back.
The pre-fight was marred by rumours of the then 36-year-old’s fitness with allegations that he sacked off his training camp in order to party in Las Vegas.
And he even took time out to get his now iconic facial tattoo just a week before the bout.
Despite all of that, and “The Baddest Man on the Planet” cancelling the fight before changing his mind, the legend still claimed what would be his final ever victory between the ropes.

He filed for bankruptcy soon afterwards but the American has since gone on to bounce back with his highly-profitable cannabis farm, several Hollywood movie appearances and his comeback to the ring against Roy Jones Jr in 2020.
But while he has rebuilt his life, his opponent that night also hit rock bottom but now has a new passion since being JAILED.
Etienne, now 53, is serving a 105-year prison sentence in Louisiana for armed robbery, kidnapping, and attempted murder of a police officer after being convicted in 2006.
The ex-heavyweight, who retired with a record of 29 wins, two draws and four losses, discovered a love of painting while in the joint.

She said: “He’s amazing. He took painting serious inside and after he earned trustee status he was actually able to become the warden’s artist and sleep in his paint room.
“That kept him away from all the drama in gen pop.
“The city of New Orleans bought one that hangs in a district police department, if you can believe that.”
However, life has not always been a pretty picture for the artist on the inside.
Back in 2015 he was transferred to a new prison after he was attacked and nearly killed in in his paint room.
O’Shea added: “Things slowed down after the attack. He used to make all his own canvas and stuff to paint on … but now he’s locked down.
“I’m hoping some friends from his past life as a boxer can help him out.” More
