Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder ‘virtually have a deal agreed’ for massive Saudi Arabia fight

EDDIE HEARN says Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder “virtually have a deal agreed” to fight in Saudi Arabia. Reps from the Middle East flew into London last week to hold talks with Hearn for the blockbuster, eyed for December or January.

And negotiations are due to continue this week with a deal all-but closed between Joshua, 33, and Wilder, 37.
Hearn told Boxing News: “Obviously with our meetings with Saudi on Friday, Thursday, we’re in a really great place we virtually have a deal agreed in principle subject to a few final discussions.
“We’re meeting them again on Monday. I think we’re in a good place but we want to fight on August 12th, and it’s important to his development and his momentum that he does and that’s still the plan.”
Hearn has also been brokering AJ’s immediate return on the scheduled August 12 date.

And Dillian Whyte – beaten by Joshua in 2015 – has signed a contract for the fight at the O2 Arena.
Hearn previously set a deadline of early this week for Whyte, 35, to agree terms, now paving the way for an imminent announcement.
He said: “We’ve been setting deadlines, extending deadlines, to get things done and we wanted to announce today.
“But it’s very likely Monday or Tuesday could be an announcement.”

According to ESPN, the contract returned by Whyte “didn’t include pay-per-view considerations” for the fight.
So Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing are now awaiting that signed portion and already have an alternate opponent lined up.
But a spokesman for Whyte said: “Dillian returned the signed agreement on Sunday morning ET and that he is unaware of any other party being in the frame for the fight.
“He is looking forward to fighting Anthony Joshua for a second time on Aug. 12 at The O2.”

Woolhouse has been a fixture of Sky Sports’ fight nights over the past few years, presenting and conducting interviews.
And she worked Savannah Marshall’s undisputed super-middleweight title fight against America’s Franchon Crews-Dezurn on Saturday night.
The presenter was joined from ringside by Claressa Shields, who in September beat Marshall in their middleweight bout.
Shields, 28, is ready to offer Marshall, 32, a rematch, but only in America.

She said: “If Savannah comes to the USA, I will fight her at whatever weight she wants to fight at.
“She is going to get beat up in America, that’s what is going to happen.”
Marshall would put her 168lb titles on the line, giving Shields the chance to move up in weight for the belts.
“If she wants it, let’s do it. I’m sure she’ll want to try and unify another division,” Marshall said.

Watch Conor McGregor rage at Ultimate Fighter judges as UFC star suffers ANOTHER coaching loss in series

CONOR McGREGOR raged at judges on The Ultimate Fighter as he suffered ANOTHER coaching loss on the series. McGregor is up against Michael Chandler in the latest season of the show, where contenders live, train and fight together for a UFC contract.

Dana White watched on awkwardly as Conor McGregor raged

But the Irishman has got off to the worst possible start as his team of prospects have now lost FIVE consecutive times to Chandler’s veterans.
In the latest episode, Carlos Vera lost a decision to Brad Katona, who trains at McGregor’s Straight Blast Gym in Dublin.
All fights on the show are two five-minute rounds, one round less than the standard UFC bout.
But if the rounds are tied, there is a deciding third round.

McGregor felt Vera deserved one more round against Katona and fumed when the judges scored against them.
Storming around the octagon, He said: “Give them three rounds, lads
“We want three rounds here, judges yeah? F*** this two-round s***. It’s five rounds for a world title.
“You ever had one of those world titles, Michael? You ever had a five-rounder?”

McGregor then told Dana White: “Dana, tell them three rounds. Two rounds me f***ing b******s. The fight’s not over.”
McGregor, 34, is set to make his UFC return against Chandler, 37, but the fight faces uncertainty over drug testing restrictions.
The Notorious has been out since July 2021 when he broke his leg in the opening round against Dustin Poirier.
And in that period of recovery, McGregor has not been in the United States Anti-Doping Agency’s all-year round testing pool.
To return, he must complete six months of testing but the former two-weight champion is yet to be added to USADA’s online database.
The last UFC pay-per-view of the year is set for December 16, meaning McGregor would have needed to enrol by June 16.

The bout is yet to be announced but is set for August 26 in Poland.
And Wilder told 78SPORTSTV: “I don’t think Usyk really cares. As long as he ain’t got to fight me.
“I don’t think he cares, as long as he don’t have to fight me, it’s all good, because that man is terrified of me.
“He’s dodged me so many times and I know. And don’t act like I don’t know, I don’t want anyone to come out like, ‘Usyk said this and that.’

“It would be a lie because I know a lot of s***. I’m in the business, I know. He’s been offered a lot of money to fight me, many times.
“But he’s denied it. They said they do not want Bomb Squad problems.”
It is not the first time Wilder, 37, has accused the Ukrainian, 36, of not wanting to fight.
But in June, Usyk hit back to Seconds Out: “Please stop it, I respect this man, I treat him with honour.

Jake Paul mocks Tommy Fury for ‘tasting the canvas’ against him and hits out at ‘b****’ KSI over fight demands

JAKE PAUL has mocked Tommy Fury for “tasting the canvas” against him and hits out at KSI’s fight demands. KSI is locked in a weight dispute with Fury after accusing him of wanting their bout changed from 180lb to 185lb.

And his great rival Paul – whose brother Logan was beaten by KSI at cruiserweight in 2019 – weighed in on the row on social media.
He said: “Tommy, I’m going to teach you a little something here.
“KSI is a bitch, he’s all f*****g talk. He fought Logan at 193lb but wants to weight drain everybody.
“He says, ‘Oh, I’m levels above everybody’ but then wants everybody to cut down to get them to as low as possible so that he can take advantage of them.

“It’s not going to happen, he’s all talk, he only want to fight disabled video gamers or guys who are f****** old and f****** elbow them in the face.”
KSI, 30, has agreed to Fury’s demand to fight at 185lb but wants another weigh in on the day to restrict their rehydration.
And the YouTuber-turned boxer warned he has until Monday to sign the deal.
Paul, 26, lost to Fury, 24, by split-decision in their Saudi Arabia grudge match in February but scored a knockdown in the eighth and final round.

The American snubbed a rematch to instead return on August 5 in Texas against Nate Diaz, 38.
But both have agreed to rematch in October if talks with KSI collapse and Paul has already started the war of words.
He said: “Tommy as my son, I’m disappointed in you, man. I made you a millionaire, I made you famous.
“You haven’t said thank you. You’re a p***k, you’re a bitch, you said you would wipe me across the floor, wipe me across the canvas.
“But you’re the one that tasted the chance, you’re the one that tasted the floor in a split-decision you barely beat me.
“So after I knock out Nate Diaz, August 5th, I’m coming for you Tommy. You better be ready, I’m coming.”

Usyk is due to defend his titles next against WBA mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois on August 26 in Poland.
