Eddie Hearn ‘reveals’ staggering Tommy Fury earnings for YouTube fights despite Love Island star being ‘terrible’

EDDIE HEARN claimed Tommy Fury is earning millions to fight YouTube stars – despite being “terrible.” Fury, 24, beat social media sensation-turned boxer Jake Paul, 26, in their Saudi Arabia grudge match in February.

And following the tight split-decision win, he was challenged by Paul’s bitter enemy KSI, 30.
Again Fury walked away with a razor thin victory on the scorecards – and, according to Hearn, another healthy payday in the process.
Speaking on The Overlap, he said: “Tommy is a professional boxer, but he’s terrible. He’s absolutely swam the channel.
“He’s gone from making £40,000/£50,000 per fight to making £4million/£5m to fight a YouTuber.”

Fury – now 10-0 as a professional – shot to mainstream fame after meeting now fiancee Molly-Mae Hague on Love Island.
It has seen him break into the new wave of celebrity influencers fighting which brings in millions of viewers and pounds.
And Hearn defended the crossover clashes amid ridicule from boxing purists – having called Fury “terrible” just days after his KSI victory.
He said: “The ones that understand the bigger picture and the marketing side of sport get it.

“But, a lot of them are very unhappy about it. They feel like it’s very unfair.
“They’re saying ‘I’ve worked my entire life, I’ve been boxing since I was six’. But, as far as I am concerned, I don’t care. Tough s*** really.
“It doesn’t work like that. This guy has built his profile, his business and his following to a point where he has earnt to right to do whatever he wants.
“I don’t agree with the whole, it’s not fair, it’s taking opportunities away from boxers. I like to say, put it over there.
“It’s an entertainment format and we are keeping the sport great over here.”

Tyson Fury reveals wild plans to carry on fighting for YEARS and says ‘boxing will be f***ed when I’m gone’

TYSON FURY wants at least another TEN FIGHTS in fear boxing will be “f***ed” when he leaves. The maverick Gypsy King has gone back and forth with retirement plans in the past but it seems he is on board for a long career.
Tyson Fury wants at least another ten fightsCredit: Reuters
Fury, 35, returns next Saturday in a crossover clash against ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou, 37, in Saudi Arabia.
And he already has a signed agreement to face Oleksandr Usyk, 36, in an undisputed title decider afterwards.
But Fury hopes that is just the start of another long stint in the sport.
He told ESPN: “I’m looking to sign another ten-fight deal after this, so I don’t know, I’m going to put my feelers out there and see who I can get the best deal off for another ten fights.

“What else is there? I retire, plenty of money, plenty of achievement, whatever – 35. What am I going to do?
“This makes me f***ing happy, fighting. This is all I’ve ever done and all that’s ever made me happy.
“So it’d be stupid now to walk away from it when I’m making millions of dollars and getting loads of joy from it as well.”
Fury shocked the world in 2015 when he dethroned long-reigning champion Wladimir Klitschko in a famous upset.

But he fell into depression soon after and relinquished his belts amid a battle with alcohol and substance abuse.
It sparked one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history as, in 2018, he would return and win the world title two years later.
But Fury has spoken out about struggling without boxing being in his life – and wife Paris believes it could keep him in the ring into his 40s.
She told Fabulous Magazine: “Deep down I can imagine him going until he’s 40.
“I don’t want him to, but he’s still young and at the top of his game, but he has to stop eventually.
“He needs to find what he likes and put his passion into something else.
“I don’t know what that is, because he’s spoken about opening a boxing gym and helping the younger generation.
“But he needs something that will fill the void of 100,000 people cheering his name.”

Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou is a fake fight which has cost champ credibility, only the most gullible fans will watch

IT’S very difficult to take the desert dust-up between Tyson Fury and MMA star Francis Ngannou seriously. Because the Rumble in Riyadh a week tomorrow is a fake fight and simply a giant version of the Letdown in Las Vegas from seven years ago.
Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou face off in Saudi Arabia next weekCredit: Getty
That was when gullible punters on both sides of the Atlantic were led to believe Floyd Mayweather Jr – the greatest boxer of his generation – was in mortal danger when faced with Ireland’s Cage King, Conor McGregor.
They fell head-over-heels for the outrageous hype, which led to that mismatch becoming  boxing’s second-biggest pay-per-view event.
It became known as The Money fight. Floyd lined his pockets with £230million while Conor had to put up with his paltry share of £105m.
Neither could wipe the smile off their faces for months.

Nearly a million British fans paid £19.95 to watch it, and what did they get for their investment?
Seeing Mayweather carry the  outclassed McGregor before putting an end to the bombastic Irishman and the dreary proceedings in the tenth.
The publicity machine in Saudi will be going full-blast next week attempting to persuade us WBC world heavyweight champion Fury is under serious threat. They certainly have a hard sell.
When it comes to the Queensberry rules, 37- year-old Ngannou is an unknown non-entity who has been out of his cage for two years. In fact, he’s been in action only twice in the last 3½ years.

Mike Tyson has been drafted in to show him the rudiments of the noble art. He is doing his bit, claiming that the Cameroonian boasts fearsome punching  power that can flatten Fury.
It’s just not feasible that Ngannou is going to outsmart master boxer Fury, or do what Deontay Wilder couldn’t do in three fights and KO him.
But then the one-time Baddest Man on the Planet admitted that if Ngannou should win, it would be a bigger upset than when Buster Douglas knocked him out and took his world title in Tokyo 33 years ago.
Fury’s team are not in the least bit fearful he  is going to come to any harm because they have already announced he and Oleksandr Usyk, 36, have signed to have their unification fight in December or January.
Fury is by far Britain’s most popular champion but I’m afraid he has lost a lot of credibility by becoming involved in what is nothing more than a way to make easy money.
Some fans feel he is demeaning his world championship status and it will be interesting – with the Mayweather-McGregor charade in mind – how many will be suckered into paying TNT £21.95 to watch.

Even Muhammad Ali and George Foreman were involved in freak shows in the 1970s – though it was after they’d lost their world titles.
Foreman took part in an unsavoury stunt when he took on five much smaller men in one night in Toronto and beat them all – three by KO.
And Ali humiliated himself by going to Tokyo to take on Japanese wrestler Antonio Inoki, who spent 15 rounds on the canvas kicking The Greatest’s legs.

Whether it turns out  to be an Arabian night to remember, or one to forget, Fury was made a Saudi offer he couldn’t refuse – a crazy £34.5m to nobble Ngannou.
That should keep the Lancashire lad’s seven kids in Morecambe rock for some time.

    Boxrec’s pound-for-pound list
Only one Brit makes the list – Chris Eubank Jr – and some feel he does not deserve his ninth-placed placing.
The middleweight recently enacted revenge on Liam Smith by stopping his countryman in the tenth round.
He lost to Smith in their first bout in January yet one unbeaten fighter is nowhere to be seen in the top ten – Tyson Fury.
In fact, the Gypsy King is shockingly placed at number 48, some way off the likes of Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua.

That pair also miss out on the high places with Usyk ranking 15 and AJ 31.
That means Fury is ranked as the third-best heavyweight – which has left fans bewildered.
One slammed the list saying: “What a joke 💀”
Another added: “That list is now a joke because of his [Eubanbk] inclusion. I’m not even being hyperbolic.”
