Fury, 35, controversially won by split decision despite being dropped by MMA legend Ngannou, 37, in the third round.
Ngannou matched the heavyweight world champion for 10 rounds and even had enough gas left in the tank to attempt an ambitious move with just 30 seconds left on the clock.
In the final round, the Cameroonian came forward and jabbed with his left hand before jumping and trying to land a right jab on Fury’s head.
The move – widely described in MMA as a ‘Superman’ punch – left fans stunned, with one person tweeting: “This was incredible. Ngannou is box office!”

He then said: “Superman punch! I told him to use it.”
Ngannou was a huge underdog going into the fight, but many fans believe he should have won given his outstanding performance.
One judge ruled 95-94 in his favour, but the other two scored 95-94 and 96-93 respectively in favour of Fury.

TYSON FURY claims he has the stats to prove he wasn’t gifted a victory in his Saudi showdown with boxing novice Francis Ngannou. The Gypsy King preserved his unbeaten record and a historic undisputed heavyweight title fight with Oleksandr Usyk with a narrow points victory over the former UFC champion.

Fury was left red-faced when he was dropped in the third round, which many believe was enough for Ngannou to have his hand raised.
The WBC heavyweight champion landed less than a third of the punches he threw in the Riyadh Rumble but was still more accurate than the MMA man-mountain.
He said: “I’m not a boxing judge, but I can clearly see he didn’t win the fight by the punch stats.”
Fury is adamant that all three judges would have awarded The Predator a historic victory had he done enough to earn it.

Ngannou, 37, dropped The Gypsy King in the third round of their Saudi showdown but was cruelly robbed of a historic victory by the judges.
The MMA man-mountain showcased great hands and poise in his professional boxing debut, so much so that WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman believes he’s worthy of a spot in their rankings.
He told Sky Sports: “What I personally witnessed last night is a solid boxer, who deserves to be ranked by the WBC and I will make such recommendations to the ratings committee.”
It remains to be seen whether the WBC stays true to its word and puts The Predator in their rankings.

But there is a good chance Ngannou will soon be ranked by the Mexican sanctioning body as they placed Tommy Fury in their cruiserweight rankings after his February victory over Jake Paul.
YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul – who is set to return to the ring on December 15 – would have also earned a spot in the rankings had he won the Saudi showdown.
Fury’s narrow victory over PFL pounder Ngannou preserved his undisputed heavyweight title fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
SunSport understands December 23 was the date agreed when both teams finalised their multi-million-pound deal last month.

I fought Joe Calzaghe and he told me I’d be a world champion… now I’m working as a firefighter

AFTER former British super middleweight champion David Starie challenged Joe Calzaghe for the WBO title in 2000, he was told he would be a future world champion. However, Starie’s career did not follow that script and he soon found himself working as a full-time firefighter.

Starie, now 49, entered the world stage against Calzaghe in 2000, but only three years later he would hang up his gloves.
The fight was the chief support for Mike Tyson’s heavyweight bout against Julius Francis in Manchester.
But the undercard fight – Calzaghe’s fifth WBO super middleweight title defence – was underwhelming as the ex-two weight champion won on a unanimous points victory.
Calzaghe blasted Starie on Sky Sports after the fight, saying: “This guy didn’t want to fight, he just came to hold and survive.”
    READ MORE IN BOXING
This is contrary to what Starie says Calzaghe told him following the fight, admitting the criticism of his performance was “disappointing” to hear.
Though Starie remains adamant his strategy was right on the night, less he go aggressive and get knocked out.
Speaking to Boxing News in 2021, Starie said: “Calzaghe came up to me at the end of the fight and he said, ‘You’ve got power, you’re awkward and you’re going to be a world champion,’ but a few days later he slated me in the press.
“I have never got into the ring and not tried to win. I’m aware it was a stinker of a fight – but I did what I thought was right.

“If I had fought aggressively I would have been knocked out. Calzaghe is the best fighter this country has produced but he felt my power and that’s why he didn’t walk through me.
“He had a lot to lose that night because it was his first fight on American TV and if he could have got rid of me that night he would have.”
Starie would win his next six fights before pencilling in a date for the WBC interim title three years later.
However, when Markus Beyer was forced to pull out at the last minute through injury, Starie then entered the ring to defend his Commonwealth title against Andre Thysse.
Starie would go on to lose his belt on a points decision in the June 2003 bout, despite having a “perfect” training camp in the build-up.
The aftermath would see Starie head to the hospital when back in England with a suspected bleed on the brain.
Starie said: “I never experienced pain like it in my life. I thought I was going to die, it was like someone was shoving knives into my head.”
Fortunately the pain was attributed to an infection.
Throughout his boxing career Starie had kept up a part-time gig as a firefighter, revealing he had put out a caravan fire at 4am immediately after a British title fight.
Starie would eventually go into the profession full-time after hanging up his gloves later in 2003.
His final fight came against undefeated WBA and IBF champion Sven Ottke in June.
Starie said: “I had already accepted a full-time post with the fire service. It wasn’t about the money it was about the title. It didn’t happen though, I came home and that was it.”
Reflecting on his career, he admitted a world title was the one thing he was missing.
He added: “When I look back on my boxing career I imagine it was a house that I had built from the foundations up since I was 11 years old.
“Every fight was a brick in that house and I only had one brick to add, my world title, everything else I was happy with, but I had to walk away without putting that brick in.
“It was a difficult but I knew it was time to walk away.”

As well as his job as a firefighter, Starie also has a role as a Fire Liaison Officer at West Suffolk College.
He has flirted with the idea of a comeback but it did not materialise.

However, 36-year-old Usyk’s team have confirmed that the December 23 date is concreted into the contract and only a serious injury and doctor’s note will delay the Saudi Arabia showdown.

“There was a little bit of a head clash and a few punches but nothing major, no serious injuries”.

That will make it difficult for the Gypsy King’s team to push back the Christmas cracker and the potential rematch that has to happen before April to coincide with the Riyadh Season.

    Ngannou’s thoughts on the scorecards
Francis Ngannou reckons Tyson Fury owes a great deal to the two judges who scored their crossover clash in his favour.
He wrote on social media: “Tyson should say thank you to those 2 judges because I didn’t win this fight.”
Mike Tyson responds to robbery claim

And Hearn reckons that AJ would see off the Gypsy King in “six rounds”.
    Eubank Jr gives opinion
Chris Eubank Jr has claimed that Francis Ngannou should have been awarded the win over Tyson Fury.
The boxer joked that the Gypsy King had spent too much time “filming Netflix documentaries”.
He posted: “Watching from ringside I thought Ngannou won the fight.
“It was close but he was the aggressor, landed heavier shots & scored a knockdown.
“Fury deserved to lose after having so much trouble against a man who has never boxed before… too much time filming Netflix specials not enough time in the gym I’m guessing. Unlucky Francis.”
    Fight ‘fix’ spotted
Boxing fans claim to have spotted the moment that they “knew” Tyson Fury’s win over Francis Ngannou was “fixed”.
After the fact, Ngannou told ESPN that even Fury would admit that he won the fight.
Fans were left even more unhappy at an exchange between the Gypsy King and promoter Frank Warren moments before the decision was revealed.
Many social media users appeared to believe that Warren told Fury: “Don’t worry, you’ve got this.”
Fury was then alleged to have replied: “Of course.”

    Ngannou on boxing going forward
I feel great, I feel fantastic, I’m very happy.
It didn’t go my way. I want to thank … the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for giving me this opportunity to prove people wrong one more time again.
I’m just a fighter and I’m ready to fight any time soon. We can run it back again and I’m sure I’m going to get better.
This was my first boxing match. Great experience. I’m not giving any excuse. I know I came up short but I’m going to go back and work harder.
With a little more experience next time, a little more feeling of the game, and come back even stronger. Because, at first, I was a little nervous.
This new sport that I never did, that I don’t really feel it, now I know I can do this s***. Now, baby, get ready. A wolf is in the house. I’m going to bite some s***.Francis Ngannou
    Rematch?
    In a word? No.
Tyson Fury reiterates that there is no rematch clause in the contract, and instead turns his attention to Oleksandr Usyk.
He said: “No rematch clause. I would like to do it again down the line but we got Usyk to deal with.
    “That’s what next for us.”
    Ngannou worried Warren
Frank Warren has admitted that he expected Francis Ngannou to be better than many gave him credit for,
He said: “Ngannou was much better than people expected him to be. He can box.
“As soon as he shaped up I thought ‘f***ing hell this kid can box’.
“People were talking like Ngannou was some sort of nerd, f***ing computer nerd, fighting in a joke fight.

    Usyk fight delayed

Fury promoter Frank Warren confirmed that his Halloween howler has now probably nudged the four-belt showdown well past Crimbo and toward a bloody Valentine’s date.
The hall-of-fame Queensberry promoter said: “It is too soon to talk about what Tyson does right now but the Usyk fight is signed.
“It will go ahead but it will not be on the 23rd. It was crazy for some people to suggest that it could still go ahead on the 23rd.

After watching Fury’s disastrous showing that controversially earned him a split-decision win, Usyk said: “I don’t think anything about Tyson Fury’s performance, I let him think about me.
“I just need him on December 23.

“The fight is happening on December 23, we have it in the contract. It’s December 23 or never.”
We understand the IBF could strip Usyk of his world title if he does not defend it in the four-belt battle before the end of the year,  to allow frustrated long-standing mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic to compete for it.
That means the clock is ticking on negotiations and Usyk has a short and sharp answer ready for Team Fury when they reach out to discuss a rearranged date.
“No.” he said without the usual need for a translator. “I need Tyson.

“He’s been saying things about me, calling me a middleweight and other things.
“I want to finish my beautiful 20-year career and road with Tyson Fury. I need to fight him now.”
Fury and Usyk came face-to-face at Friday’s star-studded gala dinner and even shared a hug.
But Usyk later told SunSport his kids hate the trash-talking Englishman for dissing daddy.
The Usyk brood didn’t get to watch the punishing 10 rounds Fury suffered but the eldest boy Kyrylo was pleased with the news.
“My children didn’t get to watch the fight, he said. “They have to be in bed early for school and training.
“But the morning after I spoke to my eldest son and he asked me who won. I told him Tyson Fury and he seemed happy.”

London 2012 golden boy and undisputed cruiserweight ruler Usyk is yet to hit back at any of Fury’s verbals, despite “ugly gap-toothed rabbit” being one of the few printable insults he has faced.
He explains he is not interested in trash talk or street brawls and he just wants to settle the score with the 6ft 9in 20st giant once and for all.
“We are intelligent people so we don’t need to fight in the street for nothing,” he said.
“We are normal people, we have to behave with dignity. Now and on December 23.
“I’m not fighting for money. I have a different mentality.
