Tyson Fury tipped for surprising role in hit TV drama as he eyes acting career following Netflix success

HE’S the Gypsy King of the ring and this year also conquered reality TV, now Tyson Fury fancies adding a serious drama to his screen credits.Peaky Blinders star Packy Lee has revealed the heavyweight boxing champ is angling for a role in a new era of the historical Brummie gangster saga.
Here’s what Tyson Fury might look like in a Peaky Blinders spin-offCredit: Supplied
Packy is developing a spin-off based on his loveable rogue character Johnny Dogs, the Traveller cousin of show star Cillian Murphy’s Tommy Shelby.
And he says Tyson is desperate to be involved.
Packy explained: “There’s talk of a movie, there’s talk of a spin-off … I’ve had a lot of calls about it.
“At the end of the day, there’s options out there in that Peaky Blinders world.

“Tyson Fury has been on to me saying, ‘Are you serious?’ I told him, ‘You know I am.’ He told me, ‘This would be amazing.’
“Given his background he’d be the perfect cameo.”
Packy says the show’s treatment would be like when US dark comedy Breaking Bad delivered a second smash hit with its spin-off Better Call Saul.
It comes after Tyson and his wife Paris let cameras film their home life for Netflix in At Home With The Furys.

The series was so successful it helped the streamer achieve a rare entry in the UK’s top 50 most-watched shows after its release in August.
The BBC would be mad to knock out the chance of filming with the Fury. More

Netflix to show Drive to Survive style show about new sport with hopes of popularity boost like F1

SEB COE hopes a warts-and-all 2024 Netflix show will boost athletics’ global appeal and popularity — like it did to Formula One.Since 2019, there have been five series of Drive to Survive, which sees F1 drivers and team owners bicker behind the scenes.

The worldwide fan base of that sport, particularly in the US, has exploded as it ingeniously tapped into a younger audience.
Now camera crews have been following 100 metres and 200m sprinters over the past year, including Brits Zharnel Hughes and Dina Asher-Smith.
The episodes are set to be shown around next summer’s Paris Olympics.
Double gold medallist Coe, 67, is president of World Athletics and said: “The important thing is that Netflix themselves said they were surprised.

“They were genuinely shocked by the universality, the global nature of our sport.”
It has been a breakthrough year for Hughes, who has broken the British record in both the 100m and 200m in 2023.
The 28-year-old also claimed a bronze medal in the 100m at the World Championships in Hungary.
Hughes came close to more medals at the event, finishing fourth in both the 200m and 4x100m relay.

However, it has proved to be a less successful year for Asher-Smith across the 100m and 200m distances.
She followed her World Championship bronze from last year with a seventh place finish this time around, along with coming eighth out of nine athletes in the 100m final.
Asher-Smith will hope to follow the new series with a return to glory in Paris, though, having medalled in the 4x100m relays at the last two Olympics.

Oleksandr Usyk reveals how Eminem is helping him cope with Tyson Fury taunt as he says ‘it’s when, not if, I win’

The 35-year-old Gypsy King, who was floored by UFC star Francis Ngannou last time out in his controversial crossover bout victory, has already been stoking the flames ahead of the showdown.
He and Usyk went nose-to-nose at the fight announcement press conference, where the Brit tried barging the Ukrainian head first at the face-off.
And Fury has also consistently attempted to insult his 36-year-old rival by calling him “rabbit”.
However, that term seems to be one that has now been embraced by Usyk.

The star told Sky Sports: “I got into his head and now instead of me, he thinks about a rabbit. Keep thinking, brother.
“I have listened to Eminem for many years, his mum used to call him a white rabbit.
    “I don’t know, I like this rapper.
“Tony Bellew once said that I am a beast in boxing, I said: ‘Not really, I’m just a white rabbit.’”

Despite giving up a large weight, height and reach advantage to Fury, the man who conquered Anthony Joshua twice has every confidence that he will soon have another belt to add to his WBO, WBA and IBF championships.
He said: “It’s not ‘if’ I win but ‘when’ I win.
“When I go to sleep I imagine myself boxing, then my hand raised high. I simply believe that I can win.”
Usyk recently revealed that he believed he was the only one training seriously for the undisputed decider after Fury went parasailing with his kids while on holiday.
However, recent reports have suggested that the Gyspy King was heading out to Saudi TWO MONTHS before fighting Usyk after his camp plans came under fire.

“It was clear their main concern was money and not about actually getting the fight done.
“After offering him the largest guarantee on the biggest stage he’d ever receive they have gone silent.

Fury meanwhile, appeared to call out Jake’s brother Logan in an interview with SportBible.

That’s led to speculation that the fight could happen.
Fury said: “If Logan Paul wants some, he can get some. I don’t even think about men like Logan Paul.
“I’m the type of guy to go down and fight Logan Paul after 20 pints of beer, he’s not a fighter.

Anthony Joshua called out by 6ft 6in boxer dubbed ‘Big Bang’ for second time in three days since Otto Wallin demolition

ZHILEI ZHANG claims everyone will be a winner if he fights Anthony Joshua next – except the Brit in the ring. The 6ft 6ins Chinese heavyweight known as “Big Bang” has now called out AJ TWICE since the ex-world champ’s weekend walloping of Otto Wallin.

Zhilei Zhang hailed his second victory over Brit Joe Joyce in SeptemberCredit: Getty
Joshua is tipped to take on Croatia’s Filip Hrgovic instead of Deontay Wilder as Joseph Parker stunned the American on the same Saudi bill as AJ.
But Zhang believes that bout would be boring – in contrast to the “fireworks” and “commercial sense” of him challenging the Londoner.
The 40-year-old boxing pride of Asia KO’d Joe Joyce in both of his last two contests but has previously lost to Hrgovic.
However, Zhang insists fans would love to see a revenge bid on Joshua, who beat him on the way to 2012 Olympics gold.

He posted on Instagram: “I lost to a better man 11 years.
“I’m happy we have both come a long way, gone through ups and downs in life.
“Now it’s time to do this for the sport of boxing and give it to the fans around the world. Let’s get it on!”
But Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed Hrgovic is his likeliest opponent – ahead of a possible title blockbuster against the winner of Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk.

AJ is back in the big time following three victories in 2023, with the third and by far the best coming after seven dominant rounds against Wallin.
However, Zhang said: ” When you look at Joshua’s potential fight with Hrgovic, I just don’t think it makes that much commercial sense.
“If he comes to me, the whole of England will be watching, and the whole of China, and the whole Middle East. Everybody will be watching.
“It’s not only going to be fireworks. It’s going to be explosive. You’re going to see dynamite because we had history, and I want to make it right.”
He added: “Joshua’s past opponents are Usyk, southpaw, Otto Wallin, southpaw, and I think he’s very comfortable and he’s been really good at fighting southpaws, and I’m a southpaw.
“So, let’s get it. Credit to Parker, but I want to get Joshua next.” More

Joshua, 34, held up his end of the bargain, looking impressive as he dismantled Otto Wallin.
But Wilder, 38, fell to Joseph Parker in a shock loss – leaving his bout with AJ in tatters.
Immediately after his defeat, the Bronze Bomber hinted that he could retire from the sport.
He has since clarified that he’ll be continuing, however, and has even accused Joshua of ducking him.

Speaking to 78SPORTSTV, Wilder said: “They really don’t want that fight. When I lost, did you see how happy he was coming out?
“He was like, ‘I ain’t gotta fight Wilder’. The rumour was he was talking about retiring if I won… March 9th, the fight still can go on.
“But this is a perfect way for them to get out.”
On his defeat, Wilder added: “My timing was off because of inactivity. I’m disappointed because I know I’m a way better fighter than him.

“I hurt him a few times, but certain shots I didn’t take. It was hesitation and I couldn’t understand why… He has no business beating me at all, not even on a magnificent day for him.
“He didn’t do nothing, neither of us really did anything.”
Joshua, meanwhile, is targeting becoming a three-time world champion on March 9.
Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk meet for the undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO heavyweight crown in Saudi on February 17, with AJ set to be in attendance.
The IBF will then order the winner to face mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic.
Both men could relinquish that belt in favour of a rematch, opening the door for Joshua to fight Hrgovic for the vacant title.
On the prospect, Joshua declared: “If it’s a fight for the heavyweight championship of the world or fight a big-name opponent, I will always choose the former because that’s the creme de la creme.
“It’s the most prestigious title you can win.
