    And he is so eager to fight the Irishman that he has even offered to do it in the MMA cage.
    McGregor is building towards a UFC return having been out since July 2021 when he broke his leg.
    And his manager Audi Attar is open to the prospect of a blockbuster with Paul after the former two-weight UFC champion makes his return.
    Attar told Fox: “I think anything’s always possible. You never say never. It’s all about how things line up.

    “I think the challenge with combat sports is looking that far ahead. You never say never.
    “Getting back into the octagon is step one, going in and handling business there.
    “Then, not looking past that, but then, obviously, when you get past that, look at your options and see what’s next.”
    Paul this year signed with the Professional Fighters League, a rival promotion to the UFC which is set to host his MMA debut.

    But first, he returns on Friday, December 15 against 10-1-1 boxer Andre August, 35, in Florida.
    Paul, 26, suffered defeat for the first time in February losing a split-decision to Tommy Fury, 24, in Saudi Arabia.
    The American bounced back in August by beating ex-UFC star Nate Diaz, 38, over ten rounds in a performance slammed by McGregor.
    He posted on X: “That was abysmal last night, Paul is a r****d, absolute garbage he is.
    “Moving backwards like I was watching a fight in rewind. Holy garbage. Embarrassing stuff all round in my opinion.”
    In the post-fight press conference, Paul snubbed McGregor, 35, as he said: “I don’t care about that guy…
    “I want Nate in MMA. I want more professional boxers and I want Canelo.”

    BOXING fans were left perplexed after Konrad Czajkowski’s cornerman took phone calls between fights.Czajkowski was fighting English light-welterweight Owen Rees in Newcastle on Saturday night.

    The coach gave instructions to Czajkowski while chatting on the blower between rounds four and five in the six round bout.
    There is no rule in the laws of the British Boxing Board of Control to stop trainers taking calls mid-fight.
    Czajkowski was eventually stopped in the fifth round of his fight as his professional record dropped to 2-2-1, while Rees improved to 2-0 after winning his debut in the summer.
    Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison was appalled by the bizarre act when on commentary and said: “That’s crazy – fighters, I don’t care who your coach is – do not accept that kind of work environment.

    “A professional coach wouldn’t even think to bring their phone in the corner like that, so this coach needs some schooling on being professional on fight night.”
    Fans were completely baffled by the decision to take a call during the fight.
    One fan wrote on X: “Hahahahaa emergency call.”
    Another wrote: “Who said men can’t multitask?”

    Unfortunately, the advice coming from outside the ring was of no use with Rees stopping Czajkowski in the fifth.
    In the night’s main event, the promising Shabaz Masoud kept his unbeaten record with a split-decision victory over Jose Sanmartin.
    It wasn’t the greatest performance, with his promoter, Eddie Hearn, admitting he was far from convincing: “If we’re talking about Shabaz Masoud as a world championship contender, miles off the pace, miles off the pace tonight.
    “We’re talking about a guy that looked like a British title, European title fighter. Not someone that looked special enough to win a world title. We know he’s got the ability to do it, but tonight wasn’t good enough.” More

    But Fury’s uncharacteristic choice of hat was likened to something singer Boy George famously wears or WWE legend The Undertaker.

    Aspinall’s crack at glory came after Francis Ngannou was stripped of the UFC title when his contract expired, paving the way for a switch to boxing.
    Ngannou, 37, went on to face Fury, 35, in Saudi Arabia and even dropped the WBC champ but was controversially beaten on points.
    Meanwhile Jon Jones, 36, won the vacated belt and was due to defend it against Stipe Miocic, 41, until injury postponed the bout.
    So Aspinall, 30, filled in on two weeks’ notice and KO’d Pavlovich, 31, in the first round.
    And now the Northerner wants to fight Jones next in a dream bout.
    He said: “Right now I want to take a little break.
    “I don’t want to fight again this year. I’ve had enough of this nerves thing and pressure. I want a little bit of time off.
    “I want to fight Jon Jones. I know there’s a lot of contenders coming up at the moment, but I want to fight Jon Jones. That’s my goal.”

    His celebrity status has seen Tommy, 24, earn massive payday fights against YouTube’s biggest boxing stars Jake Paul and KSI.
    Tommy edged past Paul, 26, via split-decision in February and controversially beat KSI, 30, also on points in October.

    Now brother Roman fancies a slot on a Misfists show and called out Chase Demoor, who was on Netflix show Too Hot to Handle.
    Roman, 27, told SecondsOut: “One hundred per cent he can have it whenever he wants.
    “I’d fight Chase DeMoor tomorrow. I think he’s absolutely pathetically useless and I don’t want wanna sound mean but I’m just being honest with you.
    “I’d fight him any day without training. So, Chase DeMoor find your b*****s, mate and let’s get it on.

    And it would have been seen by masses as it featured on free-to-air TV on Channel 5.
    The station has been somewhat of a happy hunting ground for the Fury family.
    After all, it is where superstar Tyson made his name.
    The current WBC heavyweight world champion had several fights on Channel 5 in his early days when signed to Mick Hennessy.

    In 2011, he beat Derek Chisora over 12 rounds for the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles.
    It was considered an upset at the time and a massive THREE MILLION viewers tuned in.
    Fury’s later wins against Nicolai Firtha, Neven Pajkic, Martin Rogan, Vinny Maddalone, Kevin Johnson and Steve Cunningham were also on Channel 5.
    Some of 35-year-old Tyson’s relatives also fought on his undercards on the terrestrial TV channel.

    Cousin Phil boxed on the night of Tyson’s 2011 win over Chisora, losing on the undercard to Lee Noble.
    He retired in 2012 at 13-3, winning his last three bouts.
    Tyson’s brother Young Hughie’s last fight against Imantas Davidaitis, which he won over four rounds, was aired on Channel 5.
    He also retired from boxing in 2015 at 6-1 but remains a part of Tyson’s team.
    Cousin Hughie – like the Gypsy King – made early strides on the channel while signed with Hennessy.
    His 2018 KO against Sam Sexton garnered a huge 2.9m viewers.
    Hughie has not fought since his October 2021 stoppage of Christian Hammer amid a health battle.
    The only big name from the family not to be on the platform is Tommy, who shot to mainstream fame in 2019 on reality TV show Love Island.
    Tommy, 24, boxed exclusively on BT Sports under Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren.

    Their six-round contest ended in a draw, with the commission switching from three to two-minute rounds at the end of the second.
    Viewers were left shocked by what they saw and took to social media to react to the fight.
    “Anybody who pays for James Toney vs Razor Ruddock in the year 2023 should be jailed,” wrote one fan on X, formerly Twitter.

    A third fan simply said: “This is sad.”
