And he will do so under the guidance of Ben Davison – who formerly worked with Tyson Fury – for the first time.
Davison uploaded a video on Instagram where he can be seen going through tactics with AJ – leaving fans full of excitement.
One said: “First time I’ve felt optimistic about AJ’s development in a long time. Very very good move from him.”

One hailed: “Now I’m invested this is a good combo.”
Another gushed: “Excited with this link up.”
Joshua has been cornered by Derrick James for his last two fights, a points win to Jermaine Franklin, 30, and KO over Robert Helenius, 39.
But American James had been in his Texas base with Ryan Garcia, 25, who beat Oscar Duarte, 27, in his return bout.

Joshua, 34, instead stationed himself in the UK for his next fight against Wallin, 32, which led to his decision to go with Davison.
The young coach has worked with the likes of Billy Joe Saunders, Josh Taylor and Devin Haney.
But he shot to recognition as the man who brought Fury back to boxing following a battle with depression and substance abuse.
The pair had five fights together with their only blemish a controversial 2018 draw against Deontay Wilder.
Coincidentally, the final bout they had together was against Wallin, where Fury suffered a horror cut – needing 47 stitches – but won on points.
Fury parted ways with Davison to work with Sugarhill Steward, twice beating Wilder, 38, and winning their five fights together in total.

Major sporting event watched by 28 million people on the BBC at risk of being axed with no city willing to host

THE future of the Commonwealth Games is in doubt after a potential host city for the 2026 event pulled out.More than 28million people tuned in to BBC to watch last year’s theatrics in Birmingham.

England finished second behind Australia and ahead of Canada in what was hailed as one of the most successful Commonwealth Games ever.
However, questions are now being raised about the future of the prestigious event.
Gold Coast, the 2018 hosts, looked set to step in after fellow Aussies the State of Victoria decided in July against staging the event because of the cost.
An initial £1.4billion estimate had leaped to over £3bn, according to the government.

But now the Queensland city have withdrawn their bid too, despite originally reckoning they could do a streamlined version for £360million.
And it leaves no candidates for either the ’26 and ’30 Games, despite reports of a secret plan to move the next event to Scotland.
It appears federal and state governments in Oz have ruled out supporting the 93-year-old Games.
And organisers are now facing the possibility of postponing or even cancelling the 2026 Games.

Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate said: “We did our best and that’s all people can expect.”
A spokesperson for the Commonwealth Games Federation added: “Since the sudden withdrawal of Victoria in July 2023 as the host of the 2026 Games, the Commonwealth Games Federation has been working tirelessly with Commonwealth Games Associations to find a new host who would be able to step in at such short notice.
“We are in active conversations with a number of potential hosts across the Commonwealth and hope to provide an update on those discussions in early 2024.” More

Fears Anthony Joshua has ‘made a mistake’ fighting Otto Wallin as he nears bout with ‘tough’ Tyson Fury opponent

JARRELL MILLER reckons Anthony Joshua has “made a mistake” fighting Otto Wallin after the Swede gave Tyson Fury a “tough” battle.Joshua returns to the ring on December 23 for an epic heavyweight showdown in Saudi Arabia.

He is fighting on the same card as rival Deontay Wilder, with the American taking on Joseph Parker.
And if both men win their bouts, they are expected to clash in the Middle East early next year.
However, fellow heavyweight Miller reckons Wallin will not make life easy for Joshua.
His only defeat came against world champion Fury in 2019.

And many feel Wallin was unlucky to lose after almost ending the Gypsy King’s fight by opening up a huge cut over his eye.
The southpaw is now hoping to extend his 26-1 record when he comes up against AJ this month.
And Miller, who fights Daniel Dubois on the same night, reckons the battle will not be a walk in the park for Joshua.
He himself came close to fighting the Brit in 2019, but the scrap was axed after he tested positive for several banned substances.

Miller told SecondsOut: “I feel honestly that AJ might have made a mistake with picking Otto Wallin.
“”Even though Otto Wallin is not a one-punch knockout kind of guy, he is durable and he comes to fight.
“He is not a quitter and it is going to be a tough fight for AJ. I don’t think that it is going to be easy at all.
“The mental state that AJ has, is he going to hold up? When he fights in the UK he has a little more oomph in his step.
“But when he fights outside the UK, we don’t get the same fiery person, the playing ground is going to be a little more even in Saudi.
“I wish all of the luck to Wallin. I want to really be the one to knock out AJ but may the best man win, it is what it is.”

And she said: “It’s a tough one. Looking here, I think Andre’s got it.”
Paul, 26, suffered defeat for the first time this year, losing a split-decision to Tommy Fury, 24, in Saudi Arabia.
He bounced back in August by beating ex-UFC star Nate Diaz, 38, which is believed to have sold close to 450,000 buys.

But for his return, Paul wanted to responds to criticism of his opposition and chose to face unknown August, 35.
The bout will be held in a 4,400 capacity casino and will also be aired on regular DAZN and not PPV – a first for Paul since his 2020 debut.
He has even claimed the fight could see him break only even as he prioritised the quality of opponent opposed to their name value.
Paul told TMZ Sports: “One hundred per cent I’m foregoing a lot of money.

And that has also included headlining sold-out arenas around America.
But for his next bout, he will face little-known 10-1-1 boxer Andre August at the Caribe Royale Orlando casino.
It holds only 4,400 and the fight will also be aired on regular DAZN and not PPV – which will be a first for Paul since his 2020 debut.
So fans questioned whether the American has lost his star power as one said: “Only 4.4k people? He’s finished.”
