SPORT fans finally have something to cheer about as Football Manager announced the game is free to play for a week.
With all actual football suspended across Britain until early April at the very earliest due to coronavirus, plenty are already experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

Football Manager is free for gamers to play for the next week as the country heads into lockdown
Now with more and more people across Britain self-isolating or forced to stay at home due to the impact of Covid-19, the franchise have opened the legendary game up for everyone to enjoy for seven glorious days.
And unsurprisingly, the decision proved rather popular as fans flooded the Twitter announcement with praise.
Football Manager revealed: “Football Manager 2020 is now completely free to play on Steam until 3PM (GMT) on March 25th for PC/Mac #FM20. Your season is just beginning… “
One said: “Greatest sports franchise of all time.”
Another wrote: “Amazing gesture. Well done guys.”
A third added: “FM will be what gets most blokes through this period.”
One went with: “In a time of national crisis some people are heroes.”
Another user replied: “You guys @FootballManager are legends.”
And a final one commented: “Football Manager 2020 have just announced the game is free for the next seven days. Download it from Stream now. The heroes we needed.”
RECORD NUMBERS
Football Manager’s director Miles Jacobson tweeted on Sunday to announce that a record number of people were playing the game at that moment as the game’s popularity soared in the absence of live action.
He said: “#FM20 is currently being played by 84,063 of you via Steam, which is a new record. And likely to go up further today. Thank you for choosing our work to keep you entertained in this time of self-isolation in many countries around the world. Please keep safe everyone x”
It would appear one of those many users was Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.
He wrote: “When you can’t go out on the pitch with your teammates … it’s time for some Football Manager sessions #StayAtHome,” along with a picture of himself sat at a computer.
And another making the most of the free time at the weekend was clearly the Watford Twitter admin.
With the Hornets’ Premier League clash against Leicester on Saturday lunchtime postponed, the club tweeted out highlights of the match played out on FM instead.
Marc Albrighton gave the Foxes the lead, the ten-man hosts came battling back and earned a 1-1 draw thanks to a stunning late equaliser from Roberto Pereyra.
