PROMOTION and relegation is in the balance after the EFL’s coronavirus suspension.
Clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two are all dreaming of promotion as they head into the play-off stage, where we know anything is possible.

Last season, Aston Villa, Charlton and Tranmere Rovers were all successful and promoted to the next tier.
But with the campaign now on hold, it remains to be seen if teams will have the chance at all.
When are the EFL play-offs and will they go ahead?
WEMBLEY – the Home of Football – is due to once again host the EFL play-off finals.
In the initial schedule, once the two-legged semi finals are complete it’s over to the final where two sides will battle it out for the remaining promotion spot.
All of the finals follow the same format, heading into extra-time and then penalties if it’s a draw at the final whistle.
For the 2020 season, the dates are:
- Championship play-off final – Monday, May 25 2020.
- League One play-off final – Sunday, May 24 2020.
- League Two play-off final – Saturday, May 16 2020.
Kick-off times for each game are yet to be confirmed, although 3pm is usually customary.
Dates for the semi-finals will also come at a later date – provided football returns on April 3 and scheduling issues are sorted.
If not, then a decision will be made at a later date on when – or indeed if – playoff games will happen at all.
How can I watch on TV and online?
EVERY play-off match will this season be shown live on Sky Sports.
Each semi-final is also broadcast on the platform.
