Chelsea braced for £25m transfer bid from Juventus for Emerson Palmieri after failed January swoop

CHELSEA left-back Emerson Palmieri could be set for a move to Juventus after reports claim the Italian giants are set to make a £25million offer.

The Brazilian defender has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge and according to the Express, could be set for a return to Serie A.

Emerson joined Chelsea from Roma in 2018 but hasn’t cemented a place in the starting line-up with Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta being preferred options.

Despite starting the season in Frank Lampard’s side, Emerson has found it tough get back in since the start of the year.

If Emerson decides to move on, the Blues are keeping an eye on Barcelona left-back Marc Cucurella, who is currently on loan at Getafe.

Cucurella has shone for the LaLiga side this campaign scoring once and adding five assists from 34 games in all competitions.

Chelsea reportedly face competition from Napoli and Bundesliga sides Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen.

The summer transfer window is set to be a busy one for Frank Lampard after being unable to sign players last year due to their transfer ban.

Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho is on their radar but will cost more than £100million.

The club have already agreed a deal to bring Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech to West London in the summer and their transfer business is set to continue as they aim to challenge for the Premier League title again.

Lampard is hoping to create some room in his squad with Pedro, Willian and Olivier Giroud all considering moves away.

All three are out of contract in the summer and are now able to sign pre-contract agreements to join foreign clubs for next season.
