Bournemouth were due to play Crystal Palace on Saturday, but all Premier League, EFL and Women’s Super League games have now been suspended until the start of April.

The Cherries are the latest club affected by the virus after Arsenal, Chelsea, Leicester and Everton all closed their training grounds.

The Champions League and Europa league are also suspended.

A statement said: “AFC Bournemouth can confirm that five of its employees are currently self-isolating, having displayed symptoms consistent with COVID-19.

“Goalkeeper Artur Boruc, along with four first team members of staff, are self-isolating in line with Government and Public Health guidelines.

“This is a precautionary measure as, at this stage, none have tested positive for coronavirus.

“The club continues to monitor the situation closely and to take suitable measures to ensure the wellbeing of its employees and supporters.”

News on Boruc is the latest blow to the Cherries who have had a tough season, battling relegation.

The 65-cap Poland international has been at Eddie Howe’s club since signing from Southampton in 2015.

Boruc clocked up 153 appearances at Celtic between 2005 and 2010.
