Badou Ndiaye EATS paper with his manager’s instructions so opposition can’t see them and fans go wild on Twitter

ON-LOAN Stoke midfielder Badou Ndiaye ensured his side’s tactics remained a secret from the opposition – by eating the note.

Ndiaye, 29, was handed a piece of paper with some instructions scribbled on by Trabzonspor manager Huseyin Cimsir during the second half.

First he had to wait to see the note as he played a couple of neat passes in midfield.

But after giving them a read over, he was not entirely sure how to dispose of the evidence – or was simply feeling a bit peckish.

Because rather than tuck it in his sock, he suddenly scrunched the paper up and stuffed it in his mouth.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter loved the antics – but were somewhat baffled.

One said: “Commitment to the cause.”

Another wrote: “Just put it in your sock cmon.”

And a third hilariously sent a gif of a young child munching toilet paper.

It appears he struggled to digest his gaffer’s words, though, as Trabzonspor failed to find a winner in their 1-1 draw with Gaziantep.

Former Leeds striker Caleb Ekuban put the away side in front midway through the first half before Gaziantep equalised shortly after the break.

And the dropped points could be a major dent in Trabzonspor’s title ambitions.

Trabzonspor, who released Daniel Sturridge last week, are challenging for their seventh league crown – and first since 1984.

They currently sit second in the league but leaders Istanbul Basaksehir earned a 3-0 win to move three points clear – although the side from the capital have played a game extra.

Stoke man Ndiaye is spending the second half of the season on loan at Trabzonspor, returning to the Turkish Super Lig following his spells at Galatasaray in 2017/18 and 2018/19.

But while the Senegal international has struggled to make a name for himself in England since signing for the Potters for £14million in January 2018, one of his team-mates could be at the centre of a bidding war come the summer.

Chelsea have reportedly joined the race with Liverpool, Newcastle, Sheffield United and others for £26m-rated Turkish goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.

Trrabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu knows his side face a battle to keep hold of their man.

He said: “In my opinion, Ugurcan Cakir is one of the three best goalkeepers in Europe and a huge prospect for Turkish football.

“We want £17-21m, it could be as high as £26m for him but of course we also hope he stays.”
