LIVERPOOL returned to winning ways after coming from behind to beat Bournemouth at Anfield, extending their gap at the top of the Premier League to 25 points.

There was debate about whether VAR should have given a foul on Joe Gomez in the build-up but the video assistants decided there was not enough contact to warrant a free-kick.

It wasn’t long before Liverpool were back on level terms, Mohammed Salah finishing into the bottom corner to make it 1-1.

Mane found himself with plenty of room after Virgil van Dijk’s through ball and the Senegalese international calmly slotted past Aaron Ramsdale in the Bournemouth goal.
Ryan Fraser nearly equalised for the Cherries but James Milner was quick to react and made an excellent goal-line clearance.
Roberto Firmino missed a great chance to kill the game off, blazing well over in added time of the second half.

The win saw Liverpool break their own record of consecutive wins at home.
Today’s victory was their 22nd in a row at Anfield, beating the record set by Bill Shankly’s side in 1972.
Klopp’s men need just nine more points to secure their first league title in 30 years.
After back-to-back defeats, the win is a timely return to form for the Reds as they prepare for the second leg of the Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
The defeat for Eddie Howe’s side leaves them in the bottom three, with nine games remaining.
Aston Villa, who are one place below Howe’s team, have two games in hand.
