Gary Neville blasted by Raiola as Pogba’s agent rages ‘he has such a big know how, I’m surprised Salford aren’t in Prem’

MINO RAIOLA has continued his war with Manchester United by hitting out at club legend Gary Neville and claiming he should have led Salford City to the Premier League by now.

Amid speculation over Paul Pogba’s future, the Frenchman’s agent has been in attack mode.

Juventus and Real Madrid are reportedly lining up bids for the midfielder but United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to be in charge of the player’s destiny.

That assertion upset Raiola and he released a starkly worded statement ahead of Monday’s win over Chelsea.

He wrote: “I HOPE Solskjaer [does] NOT WANT TO SUGGEST THAT PAUL IS HIS PRISONER.

“BUT BEFORE Solskjaer makes comments about things I say he should inform himself better about the content of what has been said. I am a free citizen who can think and express my thoughts. Until now I was maybe nice to him.

“Solskjaer should just remember things that he said in the summer to Paul. I think Solskjaer may be frustrated for different and is now mixing up some issues.

“I think Solskjaer has other things to worry about.”

Following those comments, ex-defender Neville told Sky Sports that the agent has “messed [United] around for years”.

But Raiola took umbrage with that claim and targeted Salford, who are owned by United famed Class of ’92.

The 52-year-old said on TalkSPORT: “Gary Neville has such a big know-how of football I’m surprised his Salford City are not in the Premier League already.

“He should be on the board of directors for United or maybe ask for a job.

“I don’t care what Gary Neville says.”

After four promotions in five seasons, the well-funded Salford currently sit 11th in League Two.

Raiola continued to dismiss the notion that he has been a disruptive force at Old Trafford.

However he ended Tuesday’s interview by noting that Pogba is only committed to United until the summer.

He insisted: “I have no division with Manchester United, but Ole has smacked out at me on another two occasions – but that is up to him.

“In my opinion his comments about an article which actually says Paul is committed to Manchester United until the European Championship were taken out of context. And that is what I wanted to point out.

“I think this whole discussion is being taken to a level at which it shouldn’t be.”
