FIVB Ethics Panel met in Lausanne
Lausanne, Switzerland, February 09, 2020 – The FIVB Ethics Panel met in Lausanne this week to discuss a number of important matters including the draft of the new FIVB Code of Ethics as well as the timeline and details for the integrity check process for officials before the elections taking place at the FIVB World Congress 2020.
The Panel discussed the draft of the FIVB Code of Ethics with the final copy to be approved by the end of May 2020. The Panel also spoke in detail about the process and timeline for conducting integrity checks on the candidates running for election for the FIVB Board of Administration. This follows approval by the FIVB World Congress in 2018 to empower the Ethics Panel to conduct integrity checks of all FIVB officials.
Addressing the Panel, the FIVB President, Dr. Ary S. Graça F° said:
“At the FIVB we follow the principles of good governance and transparency across all areas of our operations. In 2018 we changed the role of the Ethics Panel and made it fully independent to ensure complete credibility and democracy. This was undoubtedly a significant milestone for us.
“The FIVB Ethics Panel is working hard to ensure the implementation of ethical principles across the broader Volleyball Family.”
