DILLIAN WHYTE blasted “coward” Andy Ruiz Jr as a “blob rolling away from a big payday” after the pair were unable to agree terms for a fight.
Promoter Eddie Hearn revealed he sent a “big seven-figure offer” to ex-champion Ruiz – who is coming off a disappointing loss to Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia in December – to face Whyte.

But Hearn indicated the Brit heavyweight, 31, will instead be facing Russian Alexander Povetkin in April, with Mexican-American Ruiz an option for the summer.
Brixton banger Whyte then took aim at the former AJ rival – who weighed 20st for loss in the Middle East – in an Instagram post.
The caption read: “No smoke typical coward move from fake Mexican @Andy_destroyer1 a blob rolling away from a big payday you’re all stomach & no heart am more Mexican then you am the can man.”
It came after Ruiz posted a picture of Whyte being knocked out by Joshua in 2015, with the caption: “You didn’t want any smoke so I moved on to the next opponent.
“Big announcement coming soon.”
Hearn offered Ruiz, 30, a fight against Whyte in the UK, but followed up with a more lucrative offer for a US showdown.
The Matchroom Boxing chief told Sky Sports the former WBA, IBF and WBO champion is interested in facing the Brit Stateside – after he dethroned AJ in a shock stoppage win in New York in June.
Hearn said: “Yeah [Ruiz’s team] are very interested. The first offer was for a UK fight, which wasn’t enough money.
“The second fight was a lot more money, and that was for the US fight, which has definitely got their attention.
“It’s risky times for Ruiz. If he comes back in the Dillian Whyte fight and loses, where do you go from there?
“He’s probably wanted to get a bit of momentum, but then again, he wants to prove himself. If he fancies the Dillian Whyte fight, that’s there.
“I think it will probably be Povektin next for Dillian Whyte and I think it could be Ruiz straight after that.”
