OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has defended Manchester United’s under-fire transfer policy and insists he does not fear the sack.

Red Devils legend Rio Ferdinand claimed United had “wasted £600million” in the transfer market, adding: “Money has been spent willy-nilly for the last seven years.
People at the top need to put aplan in place.” But Solskjaer declared: “I believe in the structure that has been put in here.
“In the time I have been here, all the resources spent on scouting, recruiting and researching players makes sure we are comfortable when we sign them.
“But they won’t sign a player without me accepting it. It’s down to me to say yes or no when the club finds a target.”
Solskjaer brought in world-record £85million defender Harry Maguire, £55m full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka and £15m winger Dan James in the summer.
But fed-up United fans are planning a mass Old Trafford walkout during next Saturday’s Prem game against Wolves following poor results on the pitch.
Solskjaer added: “It’s a skill to look yourself in mirror sometimes and not just blame others as well. That’s what some of us do — blame others.
“For me, it’s about understanding. We have to spend wisely, that’s one of the keys. We’ve spent loads of money in the past five or six seasons, since Sir Alex Ferguson left.
“I’ve got to make sure that when we spend the money now it’s on the right players and the right types, who will be here in the long run and will add quality now.
“Players to improve United or the top teams are very expensive these days. But I won’t spend big money on someone to come in if they’re not right for the club.
“It’s very vital and important we have players here to perform — but when they come in, you can’t expect it straight away.
“And I don’t fear for my position in that respect, I just keep on working.
“Of course you know you need results but when we sat down we all agreed that the culture had to change.”
Meanwhile, Argentinian defender Marcos Rojo, who arrived at training yesterday in an ORANGE Rolls-Royce, is set for a loan deal to Estudiantes.
Rojo will return to the club that launched his career until the end of the season after Old Trafford bosses were unable to broker a permanent deal for his departure.
Estudiantes’ chairman is the former United midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron.
And he offered Rojo an escape route after Solskjaer decided the player had no future in Manchester.
Rojo, 29, still has 18 months left on his United contract — and has the option for a further season.
