Man Utd prepare transfer overhaul by beefing up scouting network as board back Solskjaer to rebuild squad

In a clear indication they are keeping faith with the United boss, the board are bringing in several top scouts to help the Norwegian earmark new players.

They will report to United’s senior scouting team of Marcel Bout, Jim Lawlor and Simon Wells, according to the Daily Mail.

United have been criticised for their lack of spending this month.

They missed out on striker Erling Braut Haaland, who joined Borussia Dortmund.

Midfielder Bruno Fernandez also looks unlikely to join from Sporting Lisbon with the clubs well apart on the structure of the £65million fee.

Solskjaer is set to be given millions to bring in six new players – and save his job.

But they might need two more windows to complete their makeover.

United are believed to need a full-back, two central midfielders, a No10, a winger and a striker.

Midfielder Paul Pogba is also set to leave which could free up more cash.

United were linked with a move for Jose Mourinho’s pal Luis Campo, who could come in as director of football.

The club are a whopping 33 points behind leaders Liverpool and outside the Champions League places.
