NIGEL PEARSON claims Watford’s FA Cup clash with Tranmere should have been postponed earlier – and that the home club’s KITMAN knew the tie had no chance of taking place.
The third round replay at Prenton Park on Tuesday was called off seven hours before kick-off and the teams will play next Thursday – two days after Watford’s Premier League trip to Aston Villa.

The winners will entertain Manchester United on Sunday week.
Watford had flown to Liverpool on Tuesday morning and had arrived at their pre-match hotel before being told the Prenton Park pitch was waterlogged.
Hornets boss Pearson said: “The postponement the other day was frustrating.
“It should have been postponed before we travelled.
“To get up there and to find their kitman had not bothered setting out their kit because he knew it would be off is a bit of a frustration.
“We travelled up and a lot of our fans had got to Northampton so it adds to an already hectic week.
“It will be tough against Tottenham on Saturday and we have a quick turn around for Villa and outside of that, we have also got to be prepared for variables we do not know about.
“But it is clear we will not send the strongest side to Tranmere.”
Watford have bagged 13 out of a possible 15 points to boost their Premier League survival hopes.
But Pearson added: “Some people think the hard work is over but that is not the case. We have given ourselves a more realistic chance.”
