But the Argentine, long linked with any potential vacancy at Manchester United, gave the clearest hint yet that he expects the next job to appeal to him to be back in the Prem.

Barcelona’s shock appointment of Quique Setien to replace Ernesto Valverde has shut down one option, while in Madrid, Zinedine Zidane and Diego Simeone are entrenched at Real and Atletico.

And Pochettino, speaking at the London launch of La Liga TV, appeared to be suggesting he is looking for a fresh challenge in the Prem.

He said: “Now I am watching a lot of football and spending time with my family.

“I was lucky to start my career as a manager with Espanyol.

“Then I came to the Premier League, to England, learned English and a different culture.

“I am a better person today, with more knowledge and I had a great experience in the Premier League.

“Football was born here in England. But La Liga is amazing football, with amazing coaches.

“Of course, as a coach, you try to be in the best place. And England and Spain are the two best leagues in the world.”

Poch has been linked with the Real Madrid job if Zidane receives the axe but SunSport understands he would prefer a switch to the Red Devils or even Manchester City.

La Liga chiefs are seeking to make an impact with the channel, available through both Sky and Virgin platforms.

And La Liga chief executive Javier Tebas revealed the second “Clasico” of the season between Real and Barce has been scheduled for 8pm on Sunday March 1, after the weekend’s Prem games have been completed.
