ASHLEY YOUNG’S proposed move from Manchester United to Inter Milan is reportedly in serious doubt.
The 34-year-old is out of contract at Old Trafford in June and is free to hold transfer talks with foreign clubs.
Roma’s Leonardo Spinazzola could end up costing Ashley Young his move from Manchester United to Inter Milan
Antonio Conte’s Inter have been looking for a left-back and had been in discussions with the former England international.
However, Sky in Italy claim the Nerazzurri are now close to wrapping-up a swap deal to bring in Leonardo Spinazzola from Roma.
That would see midfielder Matteo Politano heading out of the San Siro in the opposite direction.
Roma are desperate for new recruits after midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo ruptured his ACL against Juventus on Sunday.
Now they have set their sights on Inter’s Politano to replace the sidelined 20-year-old.
And they are willing to offer Spinazzola as part of the package, which would obviously jeopardise Young’s hopes of a switch to Italy.
The veteran has turned down a new one-year contract at Old Trafford with a view to joining Inter.
Now it remains unclear whether United will allow him to leave the club this month or hang on to their skipper until June.
Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed today that Young will not be involved against Wolves tomorrow in the FA Cup.
