MANCHESTER UNITED face a battle to sign Boca Juniors wonderkid Agustin Almendra – from one of their former players.
The 19-year-old is believed to also be on the radar of Inter Miami – the new US franchise club of course owned by the legendary David Beckham.

And the chance to be a little part of history in the debut season in MLS could prove a strong pull.
According to AS Argentina, Almendra is on United’s list of transfer targets, but club officials have yet to meet with the player’s representatives.
However Almendra’s agent HAS held discussions already with Inter Miami.
One ex-Red Devil who hopes his ex club plot a move for the exciting teen is Rio Ferdinand.
FERDINAND A BIG FAN
The now-BT Sport pundit took part in a Twitter Q&A and was asked who he wants to see arrive at Old Trafford.
He responded with three names – Napoli pair Fabian Ruiz and Kalidou Koulibaly and his wildcard pick – Almendra.
Signing the Argentinian would be another example of boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer wanting to give youth a chance at the club.
Dan James was signed in the summer from Swansea and has already featured in 23 games this season.
BELLINGHAM ON WAY TOO?
Mason Greenwood is another getting his chance in the first-team of late – and the 18-year-old is repaying the manager by chipping in with the goals.
The likes of Axel Tuanzebe, Andreas Pereira and Brandon Williams have all been given their chance to impress too.
If United win the race for Almendra, he might not be the only wonderkid rocking up to Old Trafford.
United have reportedly made a £12.5million offer for Birmingham youngster Jude Bellingham.
The 16-year-old has attracted scouts from all over the world – but United’s Mike Phelan looks to have stolen a march.
The Mirror reports that two clubs “have made formal approaches for the player”, with United being one of them.
The offer will be a sizeable down payment with add-ons taking it up to more than £12m.
Bellingham made his Brum debut aged just 16 years and 38 days old.
