And with his tongue firmly in cheek, the 46-year-old joked that it was the FA’s fault for using “hot and cold balls”.
The United boss quipped: “First of all we blame the FA for hot and cold balls.
“Arsenal, Chelsea, Wolves away and Wolves away, they’re not going to make it easy for us.
“It’s the fourth time at Molineux already in my time and we haven’t won there. Liverpool lost there last season and Man City recently.
“We’ve got to play well, perform and go there positive because we want a reaction after a defeat at Arsenal. Everybody said it was a bad, bad performance but it was a good game between good teams.
“Wolves have quality, good players and a good manager. He’s had time, his way of playing, and his philosophy, and the players getting to know each other.
“They swap between 3-5-2 and 3-4-3 and seem to know every little detail which is a great place to be when you get the consistency he’s had. We’re up for a hard night at Molineux.”
The Red Devils crashed out of the FA Cup at Molineux at at the quarter-final stage last season.
A Diogo Jota strike, coupled with a Chris Smalling own goal turned the match on its head after Scott McTominay had given United the lead.
Solskjaer’s side currently sit one point above Wolves in the Premier League table – but are yet to win at Molineux under his watch.
Paul Pogba and McTominay will miss the tie with injury, while Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard were sent home from training today with illness.
