Paul Pogba out for up to four weeks with new injury with wantaway Man Utd star’s transfer in doubt

PAUL POGBA is out for up to four weeks with a new injury, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed.

The Manchester United manager said the knock was “not a major one” but means the club will remain without their record signing.

Solskjaer said: “Paul came back after long spell out, two games, felt his ankle was sore, we did a scan. Not same injury.

“Of course, when you get that scan, you always consult your own medical people as well like I did.

“Advice was to have it done. Not a major one – three to four weeks.”

Pogba – who SunSport exclusively told you is finished at United – made a comeback from his initial ankle trouble with two substitute appearances against Newcastle and Watford.

But now he will be on the sidelines possibly until February – as reports from Spain claimed Real Madrid have no intention of signing anyone this transfer window.

Solskjaer also elaborated on what he meant when he alluded to Pogba’s “people”.

The Norwegian previously said Pogba’s “people” – taken by many to mean agent Mino Raiola – had told the club he was injured.

But now Solskjaer said: “His people? As in when you consult your surgeon and the ones you trust, that’s maybe my bad English.

“You have people you trust and speak to. When I did my injuries [and had] loads of knee operations, I had my people in Norway and Sweden I spoke to and Paul has people he trusts, and that’s more important.

“Of course, when you get that scan, we speak to him, you [as the player] consult your own medical people as well like I did, when I did my operation.

“You want the best second opinion and the advice was to have it done. It’s not a major one and probably, as I said, three or four weeks.”

Pogba’s Red Devils team-mates are convinced there is no way back for the Frenchman, who fears the club remain two or three years behind Manchester City and Liverpool.

The £89million man believes he cannot afford to hang around as he chases more titles.

Pogba, 26, has made just two sub appearances since late September due to an ankle injury.
