Heroes De Bruyne and Walker team up to chase villain Gundogan as Man City trio star in bizarre James Bond-style advert

KEVIN DE BRUYNE and Kyle Walker are Manchester City’s newest heroes… but not in the way you might expect.

The pair teamed up to chase villain Ilkay Gundogan in bizarre teaser-trailer for a James Bond-style advert.

The reigning Premier League champions shared a sneak peek of their upcoming production, in partnership with Nissan.

In the clip, “Special Agent Walker” and “Double 0 De Bruyne” are seen chasing “Dark Illy Commander of the World”.

Gundogan – seen racing off in a Nissan Juke in a jaunty hat, sunglasses and black, leather gloves after menacingly stroking a fake cat – randomly shouts, “you’ll never take me alive, you losers” out of absolutely nowhere.

In amongst the carnage, Walker and De Bruyne can be seen sauntering in slow motion away from an entirely out-of-context explosion.

Did I mention the weird fake cat?

Man City shared the video to their Instagram page, captioned: Special Agent Walker and “Double 0” De Bruyne are on a mission to take down Dark Illy Commander of the World. Coming soon…”

But rather than being left intrigued, fans have merely been left scratching their heads at just what on Earth is going on.

One wrote: “I think walker needs to work on his defending not acting.”

Another sarcastically said: “Class Club. Class Player. Class Actor…”

A third even suggested: “That’s why they are not winning the league…”

It’s still not entirely clear what is going on over at City – but it’s fair to suggest it’s worth staying tuned for the full “film”.

Might be worth a few giggles in between all the cringing…
