CHRIS BRUNT is not usually a name mentioned in the same breath as David Silva, Cesc Fabregas and Kevin De Bruyne.
But after the top ten list of most Premier League assists of the decade was revealed, the West Brom legend’s name surprisingly popped up.
Top ten most Premier League assists of the decade
Baggies cult hero Brunt snuck in at tenth position with 47 assists and he is in fine company.
Man City’s mercurial magician Silva tops the table with 89 while Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and City’s De Bruyne come in second and third with 62 and 58 respectively.
Other Prem big hitters like Fabregas, Wayne Rooney and Eden Hazard join Mesut Ozil, James Milner and Juan Mata on the list so Brunt is in esteemed company.
But fans online were mainly focused on the Northern Irishsman’s surprise inclusion and reacted in hilarious fashion online.
Joe Oldfield tweeted: “El Chris Brunto.”
Before Nobes – alongside a stack of laughing emojis – added: “Brunt has six assists less than Ozil.”
BigSemiAjayi6 tweeted: “Ole ole ole ole Chrissy brunt brunt brunt 😂 what a legend.”
And Jack Turner chipped in with: “Look at all these average players. Should be grateful to be in the same list as Chris Brunt.”
Despite Brunt’s Prem success with the Baggies over the last ten years, his career is on a downward trajectory now having managed just four appearances for Slaven Bilic’s side this campaign.
