Chelsea favourites to land Jadon Sancho in £100m transfer from Dortmund as he eyes London return

CHELSEA have been made favourites to land Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in a transfer worth at least £100million.

The Telegraph claim that the prospect of a return to London is thought to appeal to the 19-year-old, who grew up in Camberwell and featured in Watford’s academy.

SunSport exclusively revealed that Chelsea were working on a deal for the talented England star, with one option being to clinch the transfer in January and loan Sancho back to Dortmund.

The Blues, who are desperate for attacking reinforcements to fill the void left by Eden Hazard, agreed similar terms with the Bundesliga club for Christian Pulisic last January.

Dortmund are already braced for Sancho’s departure after they completed an £18m deal for Norwegian starlet Erling Haaland.

Manchester United were targeting moves for both teenagers, but are now faced with the possibility of failing to land either of them.

Haaland’s Bundesliga move was brokered by Mino Raiola, who also represents French World Cup winner Paul Pogba.

And the Telegraph adds that the striker’s camp considered Dortmund a better stepping stone than a United side in transition.

Lucien Favre’s side will also more than recoup what they paid for Haaland with a huge profit on Sancho, who cost them just £8m from Manchester City in 2017.

Sancho scored 12 goals and was responsible for 14 assists for Dortmund as he was voted into the Bundesliga team of the season last year.

In doing so he became the youngest player in the club’s history to reach double figures in league goals in a season.
