Real Madrid hoping to pull off sensational £257m Kylian Mbappe transfer in summer after laying foundations with PSG

REAL MADRID are hopeful of pulling off a massive £257million move for Kylian Mbappe in the summer after talks with Paris Saint-Germain “intensified”.

That is according to Spanish website AS, who say Real are ready to go all out for the 21-year-old World Cup winner next year.

Zinedine Zidane’s side issued a statement in summer 2018 denying that a £240m agreement with PSG had been reached.

But now AS said they will make no such proclamation in the future, with chief Florentino Perez identifying Mbappe as his top priority in the transfer market.

Zidane himself has previously said that he is “in love” with Mbappe.

The club appear on a real charm offensive and AS make clear this is in direct contrast to their position before.

La Liga club Real’s resolve was tested when Neymar said he wanted to leave last summer.

Madrid were one of the few clubs with the finances to sign the Brazilian superstar.

But they instead chose to wait for Mbappe – who has demanded the French side give him assurances over his future before signing a new contract.

His deal is up in 2022 and PSG are said to be willing to give him equal terms with Neymar.

But Real want to make Mbappe their signature signing for their new stadium, which is due to open in October 2022.

AS claim completing a deal for the striker would be the “perfect icing for the stadium”.
