Fuming Liverpool boss Klopp blasts translator for ‘s***’ misinterpretation of Jordan Henderson before Salzburg clash

JURGEN KLOPP blasted a “s***” translation after an interpreter sitting next to him wrongly quoted Jordan Henderson as saying Liverpool would “take it easy” against RB Salzburg.

Reds’ boss Klopp pointed out skipper Henderson actually said the opposite – and told the translator: “You should really listen. Otherwise, I can do it by myself. It’s not too difficult.”

Henderson had insisted Liverpool must be at their best in tonight’s final group game in Austria, despite being Champions League winners, needing only a point and having an excellent record in reaching the KO stages.

The England midfielder told the press conference: “That doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy to do it again. We learn from those experiences and we know what we need to do.

“We have confidence in our own ability and if we perform to the level we have been and we are capable of we can get a good result.”

SALZBURG MUST WIN

But when Henderson’s comments were misinterpreted, Klopp turned to the sheepish-looking translator and said: “It’s s*** when next to the translator sits a coach who speaks German.

“The question was if the Champions League title from the last year helps us because we have always delivered in situations like this.

“He [Henderson] doesn’t talk about going easy in this game. We are aware of this challenge. He is speaking about all this normal stuff.”

The translator bowed his head as the press conference continued.

Group E leaders Liverpool are a point clear of Napoli.

Salzburg can only overhaul one of those two European giants if they beat the Reds and Napoli lose at home to Genk.
