Man Utd and Chelsea handed transfer boost over Sancho as City ‘reject chance to exercise buy-back clause’

MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea have reportedly been handed a major boost in their pursuits of Dortmund superstar Jadon Sancho.

The teenage sensation forced his way out of Manchester City back in 2017 in order to get his £8million move to Dortmund.

And it has transpired that Pep Guardiola’s side DO have first refusal on the England international.

But according to the Mirror, City will not opt to match any bids made by their Premier League rivals for Sancho.

While City are interested in signing a replacement for the likely Bayern Munich bound Leroy Sane.

They do not want to bring Sancho back, after he burned bridges with the club in order to leave.

This could open the door to Manchester United and Chelsea, with the pair likely to battle it out for his signature.

And the bidding war would be expected to start at around £100million.

Sancho is a boyhood Chelsea supporter, and Stamford Bridge chiefs are keen to add him to their core of young English talent.

He is close friends with fellow South London starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi – and Frank Lampard would love to unite the pair on the wings at Chelsea.

Sancho has grown unsettled at Dortmund, after feeling he has been made a scapegoat for the club’s underachievement this season.

Having been benched last month, Sancho has responded in the perfect way, scoring four goals and assisting two in the three matches since being restored to the starting XI.

Liverpool have also been linked with a move for the in-demand 19-year-old.
