MACCLESFIELD’S players are being asked to accept their pay cheques will be LATE for the rest of the season.
The EFL and PFA want to strike an agreement with the squad that would see them paid in the MIDDLE of the next month rather than on time.

The money would come from the League’s monthly contribution to Macc, usually paid on the 15th, but needs the approval of the team to change the date.
Crisis club Macc’s game with Crewe was called off because of the rift between the players and owner Amar Alkadhi.
The angry squad have been on strike since the start of the week over unpaid wages.
And they refused to commit to turn up for the local derby clash.
However for much of the day – until the 3pm decision – Alkadhi stopped club officials from contacting the EFL to cancel the match and planned to attempt to stage it.
The Macc owner will now receive a sanction for the game being called off and that will come on top of potential penalties for failing to pay his players in the past.
Macclesfield are currently 14th in League Two – picking up 23 points from 19 games played.
As well as striking against Crewe this weekend, the players also refused to play against Kingstonian in the FA Cup last month – with the club losing 4-0 after starting six youth team players and five loanees.
Former boss Sol Campbell – now in charge at Southend – is also owed £180,000 after his stint with the club last season where he guided the club to safety.
