Chelsea ‘ready to smash transfer record’ to sign Jadon Sancho and beat Man Utd and Liverpool to England winger

CHELSEA are lining up a club record deal to snap up England winger Jadon Sancho – and beat rivals Manchester United and Liverpool to the punch.

Frank Lampard’s Blues are confident their transfer ban will be cut in half imminently, which would allow them to bring in new recruits in January.

And top of their list is Borussia Dortmund attacker Sancho.

The youngster’s relationship with the German club has soured since he returned back late from an England camp in the autumn.

He was then hooked early on in the next Dortmund match when boss Lucian Favre was unhappy with his performance.

Chelsea’s current record transfer fee is the £72million they paid Athletic Bilbao for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in 2018.

But Goal.com claim the Blues will smash that to get the 19-year-old former Manchester City player.

Dortmund will look for at least £90m having sold winger Christian Pulisic for £58m to the West Londoners last season.

Sancho left City for an undisclosed fee in 2017.

But he has been a star in Bundesliga, with 18 goals in 43 starts for Dortmund.

The Blues are currently under a transfer ban imposed by Uefa after rule breaches involving young players.

However, the club’s legal advisors are convinced this will be overturned by Friday.

Blues will probably target three areas: left-back, wide attacker and striker.

Along with Sancho, Leicester defender Ben Chilwell and Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson may be on their shopping list.

Willian looks increasingly likely to leave at some point this season as he runs his contract down.

With the future of Pedro uncertain, Lampard knows Sancho would be the ideal player to come in.

He could then link up with fellow England team-mates Tammy Abraham, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori, Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Frank Lampard is sure that John Terry will receive an amazing reception from Chelsea fans when he returns to Stamford Bridge
