A number of clubs have been linked with the Swede, including ex-employers Manchester United.

Now he appears to have backed up Sun Sport’s report from earlier this week that a romantic switch back to the San Siro is on the cards.

Speaking to GQ Italia, Ibrahimovic said: “I will go to a club that has to win again, that has to renew its history, which is looking for a challenge against everyone.

“See you soon in Italy.”

He added: “Only in this way will I be able to find the necessary stimuli to surprise you again.

“As a footballer it is not just a matter of choosing a team.

“There are other factors that must fit in, even in the interests of my family.”

The star has played for both AC Milan and Inter throughout his storied career, bagging 59 goals in 89 games for the former to help them to the Serie A title in 2011.

His former side are desperately in need of some firepower.

The Rossoneri have only found the net 13 times in 14 top-flight matches this campaign and sit 11th in the table.

And Ibrahimovic will arrive back there right back in form.

He fired 53 goals in just 58 appearances during his 18-months Stateside.
