Anthony Joshua wants TRILOGY fight with Andy Ruiz Jr and insists there is ‘definitely going to be a knockout’ in rematch

ANTHONY JOSHUA has promised a trilogy bout with Andy Ruiz Jr if he reclaims the unified titles – and says he will KO the underdog champion.

Watford’s 6ft 6in AJ faces a career defining night on Saturday in Saudi Arabia as he attempts to avenge his shock round seven TKO defeat to Ruiz last June.

Joshua, 30, was dumped to the deck four times on his US debut in New York by Snickers lover Ruiz, also 30, despite the Brit scoring the first knockdown of the bout.

AJ has warned this time he will not allow the Mexican-American to recover – but will offer him a decider to cap off their rivalry.

He told Sky Sports: “Me and Andy Ruiz, if he’s dedicated to the game, we’ll definitely see each other a third time down the line.

“This ain’t gonna be the last time I see Ruiz in the ring.

“We make for good fights, I think there’s definitely gonna be a knockout.”

Joshua was stunned in Madison Square Garden the night he surrendered his WBA, IBF and WBO belts and blew his chance to unify the division against WBC king Deontay Wilder.

But having entered a training camp for the first time as a beaten fighter, AJ promises he has adjusted and learned from the mistakes he made six months ago.

He said: “Away from the bright lights of the media after I took my loss, it was a time to reflect and that’s what I did.

“The changes I’ve made will make it very difficult for Ruiz Jr in the rematch. Everyone talks about change but us fighters have a spark in us. I fine-tuned.

Andy Ruiz Jr says he has been working towards this fight his whole life as he gets ready to face Anthony Joshua again

“It’s a marathon not a sprint, and I will be victorious. The main thing is about being in control of every situation.

“I know how good I am. I dedicate my life to boxing so it will be no surprise when I win.

“This is all I’ve got so when I do amazing things I keep my head on my shoulders, and my feet on the ground. I know I’m capable of doing it but it’s about doing it in those 36 minutes.”
