Traditionally the clubs has always had supporter who have stood by their manager in times of trouble.

But collecting just a point against struggling Villa, which leaves them down in ninth in the table, looks to have been the final straw for some.

United’s own Twitter account has been deluged with messages from fed up fans who believe the time has run out on club legend.

Many also believe there is only one man they should turn to next, former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

United tweeted the final score from the match, which received thousands of angry replies within minutes demanding they put Solskjaer out of his misery.

User @RedDevilBible wrote: “I’m sorry but this is absolutely unacceptable. UNACCEPTABLE.”

@wickedchandy said: “Sack this Norwegian fraud. Unbelievable, showing faith in a manager who has not achieved anything is insanity.”

Fan @GeorgeKachaje added: “There needs to be a club statement tomorrow man, this is diabolical, imagine a team making you start to lose your love of football, this is Aston Villa at Old Trafford lads.”

@UtdChart wrote: “If you tweet again before #OleOut is official you’re FINISHED.”

Another, @AWBsTackle, said: “7 wins in 33 games. THIRTY THREE.
