Spurs boss Pochettino seen for first time since Spurs axe at Madrid airport as Arsenal fans beg him to replace Emery

MAURICIO POCHETTINO has been spotted for the first time since his Spurs sacking after touching down in Madrid this morning.

The Argentine has kept a low profile and only made his first statement yesterday since being axed from Tottenham nine days ago.

Poch, 47, will not be short of suitors across Europe having already been linked with the Bayern Munich and Barcelona job.

Real Madrid are also thought to hold an interest and his arrival in Spain’s capital is bound to raise a few eyebrows.

In a picture exclusive to SunSport, Pochettino landed in Madrid at 10am local time and kept his head down to avoid crowds.

Poch made a swift exit from the airport and didn’t appear in the mood to be having pictures with those who noticed him.

The unemployed manager still has a house just north of Barcelona having spent the majority of his career there as a player and manager with Espanyol.

But it remains unclear of his intentions in Madrid, situated 385 miles west of Barca.

When asked in the past whether he will ever take charge of Real, he replied: “Maybe some year.”

The sighting comes on the morning of Unai Emery’s sacking as Arsenal manager.

Pochettino has been linked with the vacant position and although fans are desperate to see him steady the ship at the club, he has previously denied managing the club of a rival team.

In 2017 he said: “Before being a manager, being loyal is more important. I am an Espanyol fan. It would be impossible for me to manage Arsenal.”

One Arsenal fan wrote: “Pochettino, Allegri, Arteta. That has to be the shortlist.”

Another added: “Please let it be Pochettino. I am so ready for him.”

And Piers Morgan even gave the green light by revealing he wants Pochettino, Ancelotti or Allegri to become the next boss.

Manchester United and Real Madrid hope Poch does not jump back into a job as they may be interested in him at the end of the season.

Arsenal fans are keen for a new manager like Pochettino, Howe, Nuno or Benitez to take over the Gunners
