It came just ONE MINUTE after Frank Lampard’s side had fallen behind at the Mestalla.

After months of being urged to “shoot” by Blues supporters, the Croatian finally did just that and it paid off handsomely.

And it led to fans stunned yet delighted on social media.

He could have even netted another just minutes later, but one-on-one with the keeper he blasted straight at him.

GATE’S HAVE OPENED

One wrote how Chelsea could now have “unleashed a monster” and that now he will have “the confidence to drive forward and attack”.

Another posted that “the gates of Kovacic have opened”.

Jason Takhtadjian joked that the 25-year-old was “clinical” while another guessed that it was “his first shot on target since 2018”.

But goal or not, Ben Cadict posted that “Kovacic is the best midfielder in the world”.

Many were united in their shock that the player had finally found the back of the net.

The goal came at the perfect time, as Soler had poked the hosts into the lead in the crunch clash.

Three teams are tied on seven points in Group H, Valencia, Chelsea and Ajax, with the latter playing bottom side Lille later this evening.
