WAYNE ROONEY will begin his coaching career at Derby County this week but is unable to play until January 1st.
After leaving DC United in the MLS, England’s record goalscorer has signed an 18-month deal as a player-coach at Pride Park and he will begin his coaching role tomorrow according to The Times.

Rooney and his wife Coleen have recently been on holiday in Dubai before the former Manchester United striker begins his new role.
Derby will be hoping he can spark them into life after an underwhelming start to their Championship campaign. Phillip Cocu’s side are 11th having began the season as promotion candidates.
They did beat high-flying Preston North End 1-0 on Saturday thanks to Martyn Waghorn and they’ll be hoping the introduction of Rooney will give them a much needed boost going into the second half of the season.

Rooney will reportedly pocket around £100,000 a week after agreeing his a deal in August.
He finished his two seasons , netting 25 goals in 52 games, with DC United in America in October with an MLS play-off defeat to Toronto.
It was thought Derby wanted Rooney to complete his own fitness regime over Christmas but he turned up at the club earlier this month to start his preparations for his latest chapter.
Derby are currently five points off the play-off places as they come up to the busy December period so the introduction of Rooney in 2020 may be the extra lift they need to mount a play-off challenge.
Manchester United’s record goalscorer left England in 2018 when he moved from Everton.
After two years in America, Rooney has decided the time is right to begin his coaching career.
