Jose Mourinho was blocked from wearing Amazon mic in Spurs’ win over West Ham after Premier League intervened

AMAZON were denied the chance to mic up Jose Mourinho for a documentary during his first match in charge of Tottenham.

The Premier League stepped in when producers tried to have him wired up on the touchline for the 3-2 win at West Ham.

According to the Athletic, Mourinho entered referee Michael Oliver’s room for the captain’s briefing and asked whether he would be OK with him being recorded on the touchline.

Oliver suggested the 56-year-old would not be allowed to do that.

Then the Premier League reportedly intervened with higher officials telling him ‘no’.

The league believe that having one manager with a microphone on and the other not would be unfair if there was a touchline dispute that was investigated by top brass.

And Mourinho has had his fair share of touchline spats in English football over the years.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea manager has reportedly agreed to have himself wired up during training sessions, since his appointment five days ago.

Spurs won their first away game for nearly a YEAR and Mourinho’s last trip to the London Stadium with United was a disaster as they lost 3-1, their third loss of that season.

Mourinho will take to the Tottenham Stadium dugout for the first time as Spurs manager tomorrow as they welcome Olympiakos to North London.

It will actually be the second time he has managed at the ground, the first being when he managed Inter Milan’s veterans in a friendly game against Spurs legends.

Meanwhile Mourinho has reminded Christian Eriksen he will have to fight for his place at Spurs because the gaffer wants to build a team based on “the future.”

He said: “My decisions about starting him or not starting, selecting or not select, will be based on a perspective of a future. I cannot hide that.”
