But it was Dele Alli that stole the show for Spurs after the boss said: “I asked him if he was Dele or Dele’s brother? He told me he was Dele. I said ‘Ok. play like Dele’.”

The England international looked back to his best as he played a crucial role in both first-half goals for Spurs.

He slipped the ball through to Son to break the deadlock in the 36th minute of the London Stadium showdown.

And his incredible flick on the touchline allowed Son to feed a cross into the box for Moura to make it 2-0 on the brink half.

Spurs added another goal to their tally just four minutes after Mourinho’s half time team talk.

Kane got ahead of his marker and powered a header into the back of the net after a delivery from Serge Aurier.

He is now Tottenham’s third highest goalscorer of all-time with 175 goals – behind only Jimmy Greaves(266) and Bobby Smith(208).

West Ham looked off the pace from the start, but Michael Antonio pulled one back int he 73rd minute to breathe life into the tie.

England youngster Declan Rice then saw a goal disallowed by VAR as he was caught in an offside position.
