Eni Aluko decides to quit Juventus after ex-Chelsea forward wins domestic clean sweep in Italy

ENI ALUKO will leave Juventus Women to return to England in January.

The 32-year-old cuts short an extremely successful 18 month spell in Italy, in which she has won Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa.

The former England international scored 15 Serie A goals for Juventus, and will finish her career in black and white with a game against Fiorentina on November 30.

Aluko said: “It’s just a matter of feeling like my time in Juventus is complete and fulfilled.

“On the pitch it’s been a very successful period, winning every trophy that’s it’s possible to win in Italy, finishing top scorer and appearing in the Champions League.

“I’m excited to be moving back to London, and back into women’s football in England at a time when there are a lot of exciting opportunities.”

Given her impressive CV, Aluko is unlikely to suffer from a lack of interested WSL suitors upon her return to England.

Prior to her trophy-laden spell in Italy, she won three WSL league titles with former club Chelsea.

Despite her continued success, 102 cap striker Aluko hasn’t featured for England since 2016.

She was dropped by former manager Mark Sampson ahead of Euro 2017.

His predecessor Phil Neville has continued not to pick Aluko, despite her ever growing trophy cabinet.

Sampson, 37, has found himself embroiled in another race row this season.

The Stevenage caretaker manager has been charged by the FA after allegedly making inappropriate comments regarding the club’s transfer targets.

Sampson denies the allegations.
