Man Utd confirm injury news as Shaw, Matic and Tuanzebe near first team but Pogba is still injured

MANCHESTER UNITED have confirmed Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic and Axel Tuanzebe are close to returning from injury – with Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay still injured.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been given a huge boost ahead of this weekend’s game with Sheffield United with three stars resuming full training.

Shaw, Matic and Tuanzebe have all returned to Carrington this week after injuries – but they are still a few players short.

Amongst the big names, Pogba and McTominay now look set to miss Sunday’s game with ankle injuries, say the club.

But Shaw could return on the left-side of defence – despite Brandon Williams’ superb start to life in the first-team – having been out of action since August.

Tuanzebe is expected to also be available having limped out of the warm-up prior to United’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool last month.

And Matic may be on the brink of a return too having been sidelined for much of the season.

Meanwhile, Eric Bailly, Diogo Dalot and Timothy Fosu-Mensah edged closer to their comebacks with what the club are calling a “special session”.

Both Bailly and Fosu-Mensah have been long-term absentees following knee operations.

Amongst the many returning players, Solskjaer ensured he had a full training ground by calling youngsters Teden Mengi, Di’Shon Bernard, Largie Ramazani and D’Mani Mellor to the session.

Elsewhere, Ashley Young is available for selection against the Blades having served his one-game suspension.

Pogba though is a certainty to miss the game – and is expected to be out until December at the earliest.

And the French star, 26, spent his international break in Miami – seen hanging out with Pharrell Williams and NBA star Jimmy Butler.
