Juventus offer Bonucci, 32, new four-year contract and hope to tie down Szczesny and Cuadrado too

JUVENTUS have handed Italy centre-back Leonardo Bonucci a new four-year contract at the age of 32 – with Wojciech Szczęsny and Juan Cuadrado also set for long deals.

Bonucci re-established himself as a cornerstone of Juve’s Serie A dominance after a shock £36million exit to AC Milan in 2017 lasted just a season.

And after the ex-Inter defender agreed to extend his contract until June 2024, Sky Sports’ Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano says two more experienced mainstays will follow him in the “next few days”.

Romano believes ex-Arsenal keeper Szczesny, 29, will sign until the same date, with Colombia wideman Cuadrado, 31, remaining until June 2022.

The deal for Cuadrado, who joined from Chelsea in 2017, is thought to include the option of a further year up to 2023.

But Bonucci’s longer stay is the eye-catching first part of the triple agreement.

The former Inter star has 95 caps and has amassed 376 appearances in his two spells for Juve, starting from 2010.

Poland No 1 Szczesny, capped 45 times, is being rewarded for rebuilding his career since failing to tie down a regular start in eight years at Arsenal.

And like Szczesny, Cuadrado arrived at the Allianz Stadium in 2017, passing the 100-mark for Serie A games early this season.

The 88-cap ace was a shining light in Italy for Udinese and Fiorentina but less successful during his Premier League stint at Stamford Bridge.
